More accurately, no beans in the burrito, and no boom boom in the vroom vroom.

The ‘RATS like to say that paying taxes is your patriotic duty. We’ve got 45% of the country who are unpatriotic. No wonder the country is so screwed up.

“No skin in the game “

No pay, no play, no vote for them.

Should be a creed to repeat somewhere there.

Proof as to why income taxes are bs.

Sales taxes funded the country up until the 20th Century. It’s even “fair” because the more you consume the more you pay.

And we don’t have to guess who. It’s very evident. All I know is this from speaking to tons of people over several years time. More people are out of work now than at any other time in my life that I can recall. The middle class is being taxed to death. Taxes HAVE risen through deceptive tactics like Obamacare penalties and deductions that are being phased out. More people have gone through their savings than at any other time in history other than the Great Depression. All since the Muslim Manchuran Canddate ascended the throne. And of ourselves he laughs it off. Hell he can. He’s being paid by special interest groups, Soros, and probably pilfered from the taxpayer cookie jar. $6B did come up missing.

and guess who pays for governmental services of which the 45% partake?? Of course, you and me!

There should be a minimum tax, if only $1.

or maybe no tax, no vote.

The biggest mistake that conservatives ever made — including Ronald Reagan — was removing lower income people from paying taxes. It created a system where they can scream for more and more benefits without really paying. Everyone should pay some tax.

The threshold for “taxable income” used to be $600 for each individual who could be claimed as a dependent, earning less than $600 annually, or receiving more than half his annual support from the “Head of Household”.

Of course, those guides were set up during the Second World War, when just about EVERY household was contributing something to the national effort. Now we do not have a generally accepted need to defend the nation against foreign enemies.

And it shows.

Not necessarily poor people. If you are a married couple, you can have up to nearly $100K in qualified stock dividends, and if that is your only income, you will pay $0 Federal income tax.

Unfortunately, the states are not so kind.

That's okay. I just paid for half a dozen of them.

No representation without taxation!

My opinion for years has been that every citizen should be taxed $100 minimum just to be here.

As a comparison to the 45% figure, consider that the Trump campaign is predicting that as much as 11 million households will pay no tax under Trump’s tax plan.
"If you are single and earn less than $25,000, or married and jointly earn less than $50,000, you will not owe any income tax.” — Donald J Trump, Tax Reform

Additionally, the unconstitutional IRS should be required to print the following excerpt at the top of every return.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

In tax year 2014 27.5 million paid "negative income tax" via the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Pay taxes on anything above $8000

Used to be that way. Making it not that way was a REPUBLICAN idea.

Bernie Sanders also likes to talk about income distribution. The bottom 20% of Americans in income also, in most cases, have no one in the house working.

If a family has someone working full-time, they immediately move up closer to the middle of income distribution.

Alternative Minimum tax should be the minimum percentage that EVERY citizen and resident in the United States is required to pay.

Alternative Maximum tax should be the maximum percentage that ANY citizen and resident is required to pay.

This is the tax discussion the GOP should be having with the nation.
