Trump: If I win, I might oust RNC chairman
CNN ^ | April 18, 2016 | Daniella Diaz

Posted on 04/18/2016 9:49:11 AM PDT by McGruff

If Donald Trump clinches the 1,237 delegates required to win the Republican nomination, he said he's not sure he'll keep Reince Priebus as chairman of the Republican National Committee.

"I don't know. I haven't made the determination," the Republican front-runner told The Washington Post in an interview posted Sunday.

The comments come as Trump spent the last few days attacking the Republican Party's nominating rules -- calling the process "rigged" against him -- which has caused top members to fight before their meeting in Florida later this week.

Reince should have been shown the door the day after the 2012 election

That he and Karl Rove are still around to cause trouble is proof of the corruption of the GOP-E.

“Old Reince better start polishing his resume.”

He’d better start polishing...something, at least.

‘Classic Trump stupidity.’

If he’s stupid, why is Trump trending up in the polls while Cruz is sinking?

All Trump has to do is quietly let it be known that anyone who supports Preibus is politically dead to Trump.

You think anyone on the RNC cares about that? These are not elected officials - these are party insiders. Trump has no control over whether they are on the RNC or not, so he has no leverage over them.

And as has been pointed out before, Priebus was not planning on running again, so he will be leaving after the election is over. But the chances of a Trump supporter getting the job are slim and none...

Trump should fire everyone he can, period!

Trump cannot fire anyone at the RNC, even if he is the nominee, or even if he is elected President.

The nominee ALWAYS has the right to remove the chairman, and many do.

Nope. The chairman can only be removed by a 2/3 vote of the RNC. Now in most years, the nominee would have a lot of support from the members of the RNC, so they would go along with his desires. But Trump has made sure that he has almost no support from the RNC, so they have absolutely no reason to go along with him on this.

It was the Colorado GOP that then voted in 2015 to do away with the caucus so as to avoid having to bind their delegates.

Minor correction. The Colorado GOP still held the caucuses - they did away with the straw poll, which was not binding anyway.

Because you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time. As long as he keeps telling the lies they want to hear, his followers will continue to believe, right up until the cyanide-laced Koolaid passes the gullet.

I spent a whopping 5 minutes googling who was responsible for Colorado's no-vote, and found out it wasn't the national GOP that was behind it. Quite the contrary. Any one of NR's Trump faithful could have done the same, but then there'd be that uncomfortable cognitive dissonance to deal with.

The incumbent President picks all of the ruling party’s leadership.

He can pick who he wants to be in there, but the RNC has to agree. And they have already made it pretty clear that they will not have Trump's people running the RNC.

Why doesn’t Trump spend free time demolishing Crooked Hillary. His base loves it, she deserves and can help throw independent/Dems to Bernie. He’s better off against Occupy Wall Street Bernie rather that Hillary.

There are countless lies and hundreds of sleazy maneuvers from Marc Rich, to the Clinton Slush Fund, to representing a child rapist, to being thrown off the Watergate Committee for lying, to illegally reading FBI files, to the Server, to National Security to Benghazi to now the Panama Papers, to every EFFIN thing under the sun. Tattoo her and stop wasting precious time. Bring down her numbers and keep them there. Dry up her money.

Yet according to recent surveys, Trump is viewed as the most authentic candidate, and Cruz as least authentic. You can talk about fooling people, but then you have to deal with the facts.

For example, I was harangued for months on this site for not recognizing what a great Christian Cruz is. Then it came out that he gives nothing, zero, to his home church.

Well, it appears he just doesn’t want to support the local congregation. That’s his choice.

But then he lied about *why* he gives nothing to his home church. Now that is a serious offense. Give or don’t give, according to your conscience and your grasp of Biblical teachings. But to lie about why you don’t give?

Heaven help you.

"Nope. The chairman can only be removed by a 2/3 vote of the RNC."

Good point. I should have used the word "ability" instead of "right".

Good point. I should have used the word "ability" instead of "right".

But that ability is dependent upon the president getting the RNC to go along with him - and Trump has managed to piss off most of the RNC, so I don't see where they would be eager to help him take over the RNC.
