On the campaign trail in 1988, George H.W. Bush was speaking to veterans at the American Legion convention and said, “Today, September 7th, is Pearl Harbor day. 47 years ago to this very day, we were hit hard at Pearl Harbor and we were not ready.”

Mine was during high school, when our school president (think Commandant Lassard from Police Academy) introduced our guest speaker Sen. Eugene McCarthy as Sen. Joseph McCarthy.

Trump would never ever take advantage of an opponent's honest mistake or completely mischaracterize a remark ...

My favorite occurred when Teddy Kennedy introduced Obama as Osama.

Every talk show host I monitor including Cruz supporters like Levin,Red eye, even Sykes have given this faux pas a pass and dismissed it as campaign fatique. Which is what it was.

Of course if a Democrat said it, it would have been hailed by the media as evidence that they are one with the people, as they finally know what one of the largest convenience chains in the world is. Thankfully, they do have little people to go to such places, as well as to write down how much a gallon of milk is, or a dozen eggs, in case someone dares toss that question forward.

He wasn’t introducing Humphrey, but using his name in a list of Democrat “greats,” in a desperate attempt to get applause.
In the Carter White House, Humphrey was always called “Hubert Horatio Hornblower.” Carter got up at the Democrat convention in 1980 and shouted it to the whole world.

If that’s the worst Trump ever does, he’ll be the best President in History. Even if Trump surprises us all and does nothing useful for eight years, he will still be a huge improvement over the evil thug in our White House today.

I wonder if he had just been told that the Saudis funded the 7/11 attack in London as well as the 9/11 attack on the US, so that date was on his mind. Just sayin’.

I notice it is the lead story on every news spot everywhere. Sheesh!

It's a lead story everywhere because it's not a normal misspeak, it's more like a senior moment. It is a little concerning.
