It seldom goes this deep. The later states have pro-forma rules to be cheap — because their results almost never matter. Not the case now.

That said, I am laughing at all the fancy-pants people upset that the yokels dare to have their own way of doing things.

Small county Republican activities are shoe-string operations, run by solid conservatives. Of course they like Cruz. Why anyone is surprised they don’t like a NYC loudmouth like Trump is the real mystery.

Most of the delegates will be GOPe types. That is the way it works. Being chosen to be a delegate to the national convention is a perk and a reward for party bosses. They will stop Trump in the first round and then vote for a "fresh face" thereafter.

There are plenty of Rubio and Bush supporters in the delegate pool. It is why Mitch McConnell says he is looking forward to a contested convention. It surely isn't to nominate Ted Cruz.

Most of whom aspire to a career in politics, and more than willing to sell out their fellow citizens in order to reach those aspirations.

Their loyalty is to the party and their success within it. Nothing more.
