I’m not sure if Trump is 1976’s Reagan, or 1964’s Goldwater. I am sure Cruz is neither.
Reagan came to national prominence supporting Goldwater’s 1964 anti-GOP-establishment candidacy. Remember, Reagan’s famous “A Time for Choosing” speech was actually a paid televised commercial for Goldwater’s campaign.
Cruz blew his chance to be to Trump what Reagan was to Goldwater—the future torchbearer of the anti-establishment movement. Instead, Cruz has burned his anti-establishment membership card in a all out effort to have it all NOW.
Very shortsighted on Cruz’s part.

Back off on the anti-Trump rhetoric, play nicely through the rest of the primaries, and show up with fewer delegates. Then ask Mr. Trump: “What’s it worth to you to have a coronation today?” And score as many points for conservatism as you can. Supreme Court Justices pre-named. 0bamaCare dismantled. Department Heads we like. Then join hands on the podium and ask all your delegates to join Mr. Trump in beating Hillary.IF Cruz did this we could have Trump for 8 years - followed by Cruz for eight years... Besides, Trump's would be a million times better at knocking out Establishment gatekeepers... making it much easier when it's Cruz's time.

When your house if burning, your first worry isn’t fixing the plumbing-it should be putting out the fire.
Trump’s focus is on immigration, trade, and terrorism. That’s where it should stay.
Yea, I’d love to tackle entitlement reform, the tax system, and a dozen other things now, but they aren’t the top priority TODAY. Immigration, trade, and terrorism are burning out national house down as we speak. Once we put out the fire, we can turn to fixing the plumbing.
