I defended it? I said that the way the NC law was put forward would be unworkable short of every “trans” person being a harry dude in a dress to make it easy, or having someone at the door to check BCs.

If it is perfectly legal for a big burly guy to enter a ladies bathroom, or locker room for that matter, and hangout (literally) what will stop dangerous perverts from doing so? That's right, most laws are designed to serve as deterrents. Laws are not written with the idea that LE will be there to prevent every crime. Unlike yourself, I think laws should be written to protect the most vulnerable of our society like the pre-born and girls, young or otherwise, who want to use the bathroom without some perverted man staring at them, or worse.
