Did you recently move to South Carolina? (I thought you were a PA resident, but I could be wrong)
Hubby and I *love* SC, and hope to possibly move there (or somewhere in the South) from The People's Republik of Connecticut someday. I'm worried about your statement "my liberal neighbors". I know droves of northerners and mid-westerners have moved to SC in recent years. I hope SC isn't quickly turning blue...? :-(

Laura Ingraham's mom (and Laura when she was a teen) was a waitress at The Farm Shop in Glastonbury, CT. I used to go there often when I was a kid back in the 1960s-1970s. I'll bet Laura's mom waited on us a few times. The Farm Shop was a great little lunch counter / ice cream place that is now sadly long gone.
Biggirl: Do you remember The Farm Shop in Glastonbury? It stood on Main Street in what is now Bertucci's parking lot. Fortunately we still have the wonderful Shady Glen! :-)
Laura is right... a LOT of jobs have left Connecticut lately.

Trump oozed left yesterday on two issues.

Good post. Lesbians and men who claim they are women but are attracted to other women are different. A lesbian is a woman, the man who thinks he is a woman is a man. Trump seems not to care about the folks who know this.

It’s hard to make sense of what Trump says ... always. His replies are disjointed and all over the place but here is what he did say.
Transgender people should be able to use whatever bathroom they want, Donald Trump said Thursday.
“Oh, I had a feeling that question was going to come up, I will tell you. North Carolina did something that was very strong. And they’re paying a big price. There’s a lot of problems,” the Republican presidential candidate said during a town hall event on NBC’s “Today.”
Referring to comments from an unnamed commentator who on Wednesday said North Carolina should “leave it the way it is right now,” Trump said he agreed.
“Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they’re going through with all the business that’s leaving, all of the strife — and this is on both sides. Leave it the way it is,” he said, referring to companies that have canceled plans to move or expand businesses in the state as a result of the law, which bans transgender individuals from using a bathroom that does not match their gender at birth.
I’m hoping Trump comes out with the true solution, to build additional non-gender bathrooms. Kohls already has this, always has, a mens, womens, and family (single).
It will cost Target far more with their new policy than an additional bathroom would have. Any of us with children won’t chance men in the women’s bathroom where girls or boys are. I’m cancelling Target card.
