No I’m not, at least not tonight. I want to be at First Avenue but at age 55 and 35 miles away from there, it’s a stickler ‘cause I do want to party like it’s 1999! LOL

Or I want to remember the heady days of 1985, my youth and the freedom of fun and Prince. I get what you said though. It’s kind of a tough night and I appreciate the humor. I hope this doesn’t come off as snarky. :)

My son in college is probably down there somewhere. He’ll be my stand-in. Ha!

That’s great to hear. You know he would have wanted a big dance party like that.

I think it’s good that folks are choosing to celebrate his life as well as mourn the loss.

Wonderful. Thank you for that link. George was my favorite “Beatle.”

I agree, made my wife and daughter watch and they laughed so hard. The Wayne Brady,Dave Chappell skit is classic also.

Kim dated Prince-Ron because of the drugs he had available. She admitted it.I have 2 friend who knew Ron.They are just asking for prayers.TMZ said it was an OD an opiate 6 days ago his plane landed close to home.I guess he just finished himself off.He and his wife had a severely deformed baby because of the amount of drugs he took. Can you find one song to his dead child in his library.

Exactly right. It’s a great tribute to Prince, something he would really appreciate. I’m one person removed from him, ala the Kevin Bacon game and my husband grew up by Graffiti Bridge. Lake Minnetonka is our lake and Prince was huge here. It’s a loss definitely.

Certainly when you ask people for the most famous musician from Minnesota it will be one of two guys, Dylan or Prince, and Dylan didn’t spend a lot of time there.

To me and many other of my friends, it was new, it was rebellious in a sexual way, rebel against the parents that said “Oh you can’t listen to that song”, the beats and the songs. I made us feel a little bit more grown up. Prince was an Iconic figure for any teenager in the 80s.. RIP!

No Dylan was born in Hibbing and pretty much left. Prince was here his whole life. He made it a point to stay here away from the madness that is LA or NYC.

I know Prince through my work in television production. He worked on his projects in our edit suites.

I moved to Minneapolis in 1984 when Prince was on the rise. It’s weird but I feel like I lost part of my youth. I don’t usually get affected by the passing of a music star. This one bothers me a lot. I guess I miss South Minneapolis.

Do you have a cite for that? Not questioning you but I’ve never heard Prince referred to as Ron.
