I have been thinking about Noonan the way you say for awhile. She does carry on in spite of being an emotional wreck. She longs for a political fantasy world that never existed. Yes, our country is in trouble and it will take more than tears and sentiment for us to get back on track.
Here’s a killer comment from reader John Reale at the WSJ page.
“I follow Peggy just for the fun of her invented friends and their perfect quotes. My all time favorite is Caser her deli man. This article was a real treat.
We had Lloyd and Bill - both with children they had to explain the political process to!
Her friend John who was walking in a neighborhood. with his app that described voters!
Her unknown friend who was aware of the catch in her voice, “Yes, he said, quizzically, comfortingly, we did.”
The numerous emails she receives from people who are grieving.
Putting her face in her hands and sobbing listening to a Paul Simo song on YouTube.
Go, Peg, go. Maybe one of these days you will realize than an opinion column should rely on facts and not fiction.”
