Trump: I’m not going start 'toning it down'

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump told his supporters he doesn’t plan to start “toning it down” as the race for the White House nears the GOP convention.

“You know, being presidential’s easy — much easier than what I have to do,” Trump said at a campaign rally Saturday in Bridgeport, Conn. “Here, I have to rant and rave. I have to keep people going. Otherwise you’re going to fall asleep on me, right?” That message contradicts the one Trump’s chief strategist Paul Manafort told top Republican officials on Thursday.

“The part that he’s been playing is now evolving into the part that you’ve been expecting,” Manafort told Republican National Committee (RNC) members at the party’s spring meeting in Hollywood, Fla.

Trump appears to be pushing back.

“If I acted presidential, I can guarantee you this morning I wouldn’t be here,” Trump said earlier Saturday in Waterbury, Conn.

“I sort of don’t like toning it down,” Trump added. “Isn’t it nice that I’m not one of these teleprompter guys?”

Of course he won’t tone it down. Seventh grade was fun, and the idiocracy rolls on.

The clown car campaign. Pray for America.

Because McCain and Romney being so polite was so good for us.....

Trump is right about having to put on a show and keep folks interested - and he does it with plain language instead of giving highbrow lectures ala Cruz - the thief of the People.

Manafort, the new campaign manager, says Trump is “evolving”. What’s he going to evolve into? McConnell? Schumer? Christie? Reagan? Obama?

Mr. Trump has multiple choices. His supporters will just have to wait and see.

NeverHillary!

Trump is going to ‘evolve’ into his natural self, which is his leadership style.

What we’ve seen thus far is not the natural Trump, it’s what he decided was needed be to secure the nomination.

Soon we are going to see the Trump that his employees have seen for decades in the boardroom.

A leader, presidential.

I believe Trump only said that anyone can use his bathroom. I did not here him say that everyone should use any bathroom. I don’t think he went there.

But, I do agree with you. We are not electing Priest of the United States. We are electing the head of the executive branch. And we could use an executive.

Most of these issues are just gotcha issues. They have nothing to do with the office. Its about time we hire someone for the job who is qualified to do it. Maybe not in every facet (thats why we have cabinet secretaries), but at least understands how to make decisions and stay inside a budget.

Wouldn’t be a great step forward if the president was trying to figure out what is best for the country and not best for the donors or even best to get re-elected.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a guy who tries to live within a budget. And modernized the government so its doing its job as efficiently as any well run company would.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a guy cut out the aspects of government that are not part of the law. Too stream line the government so its enacting laws and not enacting personal agenda’s of employees or party’s or donors.

Let the bathroom issue be hashed out locally. Face it, I would prefer to use my own bathroom and I don’t like to think about anyone, man or women, who is in the public bathroom with me, or before me.

Trump can choose to have men claiming to be women who are sexually attracted to women use the women’s bathrooms in his buildings. Like Bruce Jenner. His women customers can choose not use his buildings if they don’t dig it. I personally don’t think this is great for culture right now, but hey it’s his business.

But no way I am going to buy that there should be laws telling businesses that they can’t choose to stop men from using their women’s bathroom as a business decision. I mean come on, it’s not that hard.

As far as any type of sexual predation, seems to me there is a difference between men and women, no matter who they are attracted to or what they claim to be. Men who claim to be women are not lesbians.

I think he was talking about Trump becoming nicer and more likable - Trump says hell no to going PC so it might be a wash.

Cruz is also claiming he's going to become more likable - who knows?
