Texas Sen. Ted Cruz collected the overwhelming majority of Maine's Republican delegates during the state's GOP convention Saturday.

Cruz collected 19 of the 20 spots up for grabs, with the 20th spot going to Maine Gov. Paul LePage, who's supporting GOP front-runner Donald Trump.

You chose to use the word cheating. I see it as superior organizing and executing the political process such as it us. Trump will still get his first round delegates, which is what the voters were promised. After that the candidate best at resting a coalition will win. Trump is going to have a hard time doing that since he has insulted all the other candidates and most of the rest of the Republican Party.

Win by the insult, due by the insult!!!

“Well, where I’m from, whoever gets the most points (votes) wins...And that means the public vote, not JUST the GOPe picked delegates ....”

Huh. Too bad the US doesn’t have those rules. Then y’all would have something to whine about.

I would be MORTIFIED that my children would grow up, pick up a history book on this election, and see the lying and cheating and duplicity and sleaziness I'd done. I am serious---Cruz may be too young to think about that. But it WILL come back to haunt a parent, your child knowing that you'd set an example by doing something so consciously and stridently immoral, and excused it as "the end justifies the means." That will stay with them and color their opinion of their parents forever. Like it or not.

So there was nothing untoward about it, let's say. Let's say Cruz, with his devilish charm and movie star looks just SWAYED by his mere presence all these delegates to break their pledge to the candidate for whom they stood in the election booth, where the voters voted for them in good faith----STILL:

The Bible makes it plain that we are to avoid not JUST evil but the APPEARANCE of evil or wrongdoing. No only are we not supposed to do wrong, we are commanded to make sure it does not appear that we are doing wrong.

Morally, Biblically or whatever, a Christian, a PERSON, would to out of their way to make sure that their OPPONENT got all that was due them. To avoid ALL APPEARANCE OF WRONGDOING.

My 8 year old grandson's baseball game the other night wasn't close, my grandson's team was killing them, shutting them out 10 to nothing. But the other team scored a run. The scorekeeper accidentally put the run down for my GRANDSON'S team, making it 11 to nothing, when the run should have been scored for the OTHER team, making it 9 to 1. Fifty or more parents and not one said anything, play continued. I got up and walked to the scorer (in a sort of tower overlooking the fields and controlling the electronic scoreboards,) and told the guy the mistake. He corrected it. My point? I am no hero. But I'm DAMNED if the 50 of us there, mostly parents, let OUR BOYS think we would cheat. Period. Losing a game, meh. Learning that cheating is acceptable--well you grow up like the Cruznadian.

Teach him a lesson. Don’t Vote and just give it to Hillary!

Well, doubt if Cruz is going to be the nominee but if he is I will write in TRUMP!

Do you honestly believe that Cruz is getting all these delegates because they want him? If he can’t win the elections, how is he swaying these delegates? CO polls show that Trump would have won CO with 44% of the vote. Why did Cruz get 100% of the delegates.

It’s because these delegates are party insiders, period. It was party insiders who setup these voteless elections and it’s party insiders who will vote for the true establishment candidate, John (GAG) Kasich.

Yawn. This doesn't mean crap if there isn't any second ballot, which there won't be.

Another "big" Ted Cruz win. A few more of these wins, and he'll be out of the race in May.

If Cruz is so great at ground game and organizing, how does he get so many pathetic finishes in the teens and low 20s and even third place finishes?

No, won't do that but maybe Cruz will if he isn't the nominee.

Well, these numbers are from the US...Republican Primary/Caucus:

Trump——845 delegates-—8,785,763 public votes-—38%

Cruz-——559 delegates-—6,454,321 public votes-—28%

Looks like the public vote DOES mean something in the US....

We look at Cruzmites termites insulting our values of respecting the vote, they not only insult that but even insult the delegate process by double agent delegates who suppose to represent the votes behind them but are actually agents of the candidate who didn’t get that vote, they cheer on voterless elections, and you wonder why the majoritt by far now depise the Cruz campaign?

What is so smart about holding extra Aces up your sleeve at a poker game, those types got their commence sooner than later even back in the day, but today the word gets out and Cruz is destroying any support he had from the Republican base and America. Cruz seems pretty stupid, but what do you expect from unprincipled politicians like Mr. Haney Cruz. He will be held accountable sooner than later for such behavior and I hope it isn’t going to be nice for him.

California for Trump.

Exactly!

The GOP presidential candidate, no matter who he is, NEEDS democrats and independents to vote for him in November in order to win the general election.

Hillary will be MUCH more sensitive to us tender plants.

Howie had LePage on the other night, so all New England Repubs know about it.

Cruz is scum. I live in Maine ... if you're a republican and you voted for Trump, Cruz is nothing but a snake. Of course, a snake that follows the rules. But a snake none the less. Zero shame.

Cruz - Get of my state you scumbag.

What are you talking about? Trump will get the prescribed number of deligates he won in Maine to vote for him on the first ballot as set by the rules. This stuff only comes into play on the second and so on ballots as is allowed by the rules and had been for a long long time. Give it a rest. You make it sound Trump is being harmed when he and more importantly his team fully knew the rules going in. I can hardly wait, not, to see this guy deal with the real world.

Might be the angry threads are because some states didn’t give the public the chance to see their votes counted....

You Cruz idiots don’t have a clue whats going on. I was a delegate at one time. One of the perks that comes along with being a delegate is being wooed by one of the candidates. IF you pledge yourself to the frontrunner, no one is gonna knock on your door! These guys will dump Cruz for a cheese sandwich!
