Former senator Harris Wofford has revealed he is to wed his male partner after finding love again after his fifty-year marriage to his wife. The 90-year-old wrote a moving essay about the tragic loss of his wife Clare Lindgren to leukemia in 1996, and beginning a new chapter of his life with Matthew Charlton - who is fifty years his junior.

Not just inheiritance. I believe the younger man will be able to claim pension and SS benefits.
In the case of Congressional pensions, they are most generous.
Better put in a big order for Viagra.
That never occurred to me...and I'm willing to bet that you're 100% correct.
90 year olds don’t generally bother unzipping their flies before they pee.
Viagra commercial.
Only one thing Harris, you used the wrong word it is not marriage. I think elder abuse is the operative phrase.
I sincerely believe that we are running out of ideas for the “most outrageous post ever” on Free Republic.
What 40-year old is interested in a marital relationship with a 90-year old? Gross! Gay or straight, that’s just gross! Almost certainly got to be a significant gold digging aspect involved.
Wait til the big push to normalize Pedophilia hits if Hillery because president.
I knew he was an insane liberal.
I just didn't know he was a closet case.
Although I did know that one time his news broadcast was interrupted by a guy holding up a gay rights sign.
Instead of being absolutely pissed off, he said "We went on to be great friends after that."
It's all starting to make sense now...
My thoughts exactly...
Should read: 90 year old former senator reveals he will marry his new male partner 50 years his junior
Who writes these hedlines? Was he previously 90 or previously a Senator? Or perhaps both?
For years, “Uncle Walter” kept a small apartment near the UN Headquarters Building in NYC, along with a larger one he shared with his wife. Supposedly used the smaller place “to write,” but Cronkite never published very many books, and given his schedule and stature, it’s a fair bet he had a little editorial “help,” as many celebrity authors do, even journalists. So, I’m not sure how much writing went on at his place near the UN. I do recall that he began dating one of Carly Simon’s sisters just weeks after his wife died. Didn’t know he took swings from the other side of the plate, too.
Amazing how much the media has changed. When Chet Huntley and David Brinkley were named co-anchors on NBC back in the mid-50s, they initially rebelled at the notion of saying “Good night, Chet..Good night, David” at the end of each broadcast. As they claimed, “it makes us sound like a couple of fags.” Apparently, Cronkite would have blown them kisses.
I thought “Behind the Candleabra” HAD to be satire. Turns out (!) it is a recent HBO movie celebrating faggotry, featuring “the usual suspects”.
A difficult to watch film that was not sympathetic to homosexuality
Despite the intentions
No kidding. Disgusting old fool.
And the pansy boy on his knees for a year or two to make the easiest money of his life.
Dementia is a terrible thing but celebrated when it leads its victim to a suitably pc result. Celebrate mental illness.
I wouldn't necessarily assume that he was "really gay all along." Sure, when something like this happens to someone they assume that it must have been deeply rooted in their psyche, but Wofford or Clive Davis may not actually have been lusting after men all these years or that Cynthia Nixon or Meredith Baxter may not have been ogling women for decades.
Human sexuality can be a little more fluid and changeable than that. Something kicks in and an older person may decide that he or she "never really" heterosexual, but they many not have felt that way at the time.
Makes me feel nauseous. Wonder what’s causing all this mental illness?
