On the edge of Belarus' Chernobyl exclusion zone, down the road from the signs warning "Stop! Radiation," a dairy farmer offers his visitors a glass of freshly drawn milk. Associated Press reporters politely decline the drink but pass on a bottled sample to a laboratory, which confirms it contains levels of a radioactive isotope at levels 10 times higher than the nation's food safety limits.

That’s what I explined in a previous post. For example, the non-venison meat we get for our kids is from a farm about ten miles away. They’re not certified organic; however, I know that farmer and his family. They follow organic practices outlined by the USDA, but choose not to get fed gov involved for the sake of the little green sticker.
I saw that too. The place was chock full for deer with beavers busily creating dams. Trees and plants were going thick. If the few building disappeared the place would look primeval.
It’ll put hair on your chest.
“...chicken, raised in the US to be processed in China...”
That right there grosses me out.
The chicken crosses the road (ocean) twice. From here, to there, and back again. That’s too much time from kill to table, and it’s being thawed and refrozen. Who knows if it’s allowed to sit for hours on a dock somewhere until it’s begun to rot.
You are right on this.
>I notice that some labels state clearly that the product is raised and processed in the US.
Now, all they need to add is ‘illegal-free processing’ and you’d have a trifecta on ‘safe’ /semi-S
The trouble is, the linear, no-threshold model of the danger of radiation exposure is approximately as scientific as AGW.The linear, no-threshold model is simple, just like CO2 is a greenhouse gas is simple. And like the AGW model, the LNT model is convenient for leftists.
Also like the AGW model, the LNT model seems to be an oversimplification and, de facto, scare mongering.
But, as with the AGW model, the left has succeeded in minimizing the collecting and publishing of contrary data. So it is easy to be conservative, and just not take any chances with radiation in your food supply.
I do not claim to be a real expert in the field.
I agree. Meat processing plants are notorious for hiring illegals.
