Ted Cruz, John Kasich Campaigns Agree to Coordinate to Stop Trump
GMA-ABC ^ | 4/25 | Jessica Hopper

The campaigns for Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz and John Kasich announced in statements tonight that each candidate will cede states in the 2016 presidential race to one another in an effort to stop GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.

Cruz's campaign manager Jeff Roe said in a statement that "to ensure that we nominate a Republican who can unify the Republican Party and win in November, our campaign will focus its time and resources in Indiana and in turn clear the path for Gov. Kasich to compete in Oregon and New Mexico, and we would hope that allies of both campaigns would follow our lead."

Kasich's campaign manager John Weaver wrote in a memo that, "We are very comfortable with our delegate position in Indiana already, and given the current dynamics of the primary there, we will shift our campaign's resources West and give the Cruz campaign a clear path in Indiana."

Officials in both the Cruz and Kasich campaigns told ABC News that the campaigns coordinated on the decisions announced tonight.

Not only is this not news, it's a non-event. One irrelevant person agreeing to ignore another irrelevant person in states that likely won't make any difference. The desperation is getting tangible now.

So I take it Cruz and Kasich are not running for president anymore.

This boils down to exactly one thing.

The GOPe trying to talk the voters into disenfranchising themselves. Taking the decision out of the voters hands and putting it in the GOPe’s hands.

Trust you GOPe?

I think not!

The Cruz-Kasich merger is out in the open, announced by both campaigns, and perfectly legal. Therefore, this arrangement is NOT collusion as suggested by The Donald!

Trump loves to play the victim...just like all good Liberal Democrats! Think about it!

The way I see it, Donald is soiling himself over this because he can do basic addition...

559+148 = 707

While 845 is still greater than 707, the numbers show that Cruz and Kasich may be able to march into Cleveland with a very credible alternative ticket that could appeal to most at the convention. Cruz-Kasich just rolls off the tongue!

Plus, you have two strong Conservatives uniting both ends of the party spectrum, a young Constitutional visionary working with an experienced pragmatic budget-cutter! Contrast a party unifying Cruz-Kasich team with the Liberal Trump-Whoever (Oprah, Bernie, Kanye, Omarosa, Carson, Christie) ticket? What self-respecting Conservative Republican will have the stones to embrace Trump as his VP? Jeff Sessions? Think about it!

And then, if you throw in Rubio’s 171 delegates plus the current ~100 RNC-controlled delegates...

559+148+171+100 = 978 (before the remaining primaries get counted)

These exciting possibilities may be why Mr. “Art-of-the-Deal” was blowing kisses to Rubio last week, hinting at VP! Think about it!

You know, if Donald is secretly calling “Little Marco” to obtain his delegates in exchange for the Vice-Presidency, that might be actual “collusion”! Trump is always prone to project his own bad behaviors and foibles upon others...think about it!

The exclusive blue blood fraternity known as the RNC doesn’t like Trump, the leader of Animal House, crashing their party!

These guys Terd and K-sick are losers, SORE LOSERS.

There should be a SORE LOSER RULE. YOU ARE ELIMINATED YOU DROP OUT, YOU DON’T COLLUDE AND TAG TEAM TO BLOCK AN PERSON YOU PLEDGED TO SUPPORT IF HE BECOMES THE NOMINEE.

Rnc begged Trump to sign the pledge to support the RNC nominee, and these guys and Reindeer Penis won’t back the presumptive winner Trump.

The people will see thru this and Trump will still win.

If there was any doubt left that Ted gets his marching orders from the GOPe, it's gone.

I really admired Cruz and supported him tooth and nail but I feel like he's shown that his "uncompromising" conservative values have been compromised after all. Such a shame.

“Therefore, this arrangement is NOT collusion as suggested by The Donald!”

It is collusion, and collusion is not always illegal.

You have soiled yourself with TDS.

Not only is this not news,...

I think it is news that the Kasich campaign apparently thinks they can trust the Cruz campaign, just days after the Cruz camp reneged on the Maine "unity slate" agreement.

So much for Cruz proclaiming he should drop out because he can’t win. Seems the Canadian is nothing but eGOP.

Agreed, but The Donald used the word illegal to describe the Cruz-Kasich “collusion”...

I can read and do math!

Just expressing my opinions...and, not pushing for a brokered convention...

Simply, pushing for a first ballot win for Cruz-Kasich!
