The government has no authority whatsoever to tell a daycare what food it can and cannot serve its clients. An unelected wookie has even less authority.

The food guidelines were bought and paid for by lobbyists for agriculture companies. The grains and fruits are killing people with diabetes. A high protein and vegetable diet is the best, not whole grains and fruits, they should be regarded as treats or desserts. Why do they think the black folk are so fat? Not from eating green beans and steak. From french fried potatoes, baked potatoes, rice, bread, and noodles.
Adult nutrition rules for growing children. Stupidity written large. Growing children need large calorie intake coupled with plenty of exercise.
When my oldest grandson was ages six to eight he would eat only chicken nuggets, fried chicken legs or hot dogs with mayo for dinner. Also always had to have mashed potatoes with butter, broccoli with cheese sauce and chocolate cookies with vanilla ice cream and a banana for desert. That was it. Real boring but easy to do. Lunch was brown bag, a pb&j sandwich, bag of chips and a green apple. We all survived and now he eats everything.
Michelle needs to keep her nose out. Of course, we didn’t use government money for our food or anything else either.

The public schools in this area are far superior to the private schools. Each of my kids graduated high school with around 21 college credit hours, and went on to excellent undergraduate institutions.

Home schooled two. One lawyer and one architect. It’s about choices. Granted, private law schools are very expensive.
