Dozens of Methodist leaders are objecting to Mississippi’s new religious objections law, saying it violates their religious principles.

More than 30 ministers from around the state and nation published an open letter Monday saying the so-called “religious freedom” law goes against Christian teachings to love and respect all people. The group joins major businesses, human rights groups and legal experts in opposing the incoming law, which they say discriminates against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. […]

Pastor Bruce Case of Madison, Mississippi, was among those who signed the letter opposing the law. He said the law creates a problem where there is none. “LGBT people have always been a part of the church,” he said. “They’re our friends and fellow churchgoers. This law is unnecessary and just feels mean-spirited to me.” …

These folks wouldn’t recognize the gospel or scripture if you held their finger and helped them point to it.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.

In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

(New Testament, Romans 1:26, 27)

Yeah, and what is it with this "prison" thing? That's so unfriendly!

Pseudo Christians for sure. More like soldiers of the devil’s army and nothing short on an assault on Christianity. Just my take.

Methodists used to be no drink, no dancing, no premarital sex and marriage was male + female done by a male pastor.

What passes for Methodists today is the church of feel good, do what tickles your tummy & groin, vote Democrat and sometimes go to church to act smug. God, Jesus and admonitions in the Bible are way down the list.

The complaining pastors are making the rope Islamists will hang all Christians with.

So this clown thinks that sexual deviants have always been part of his church? That’s a weird church. I suppose he doesn’t have a problem with rapists and murderers either. God has to be ashamed of these “churches.”

“Methodist” used to be synonymous with someone who was, if anything, too straitlaced.

Now the reverse seems true.

Hate sin; love the sinner, does not mean you have to enable the sinful and perverted, destructive acts of the sinners. Laws aren’t passed to enable bank robbers or murderers but their souls are to be valued (loved) and their sins can be forgiven.
