I'm thinking Cruz has seen the internal polls for Indiana next week and sees that he is now double-digits down. He also sees that Trump is showing up in Indiana tonight in a large stadium with Bobby Knight. He should also realize that third place finishes under 15% (behind Kasich no less) do not provide a viable path to nomination even if Trump did fall short on the first ballot. Why would the Republican Party nominate somebody who has demonstrated that he is weak in the Northeast and Deep South?
Then again, Cruz might be doubling down. I sincerely hope not. While I've been tough on Cruz these past few weeks, I'm hoping that he is enough of a patriot to recognize the situation our nation is in and how dangerous another Clinton presidency will be. His best move at this time would be to gracefully drop out and throw his support behind Donald Trump.

Bobby Knight is endorsing Trump in Indiana?
Game. Over.
At least in Indiana. Trump will crush the opposition there.

You’re 100% right, but isn’t he supposed to make the announcement at a rally? Nobody drops out at a rally.

He’s doubling down. He’s wholly owned by the GOPe. There’s no way they are going to let him do the right thing.
