U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said he will make a major announcement at 4 p.m. on Wednesday but gave no other details.
Cruz's campaign has begun hinting that he could name a vice presidential running mate as soon as this week, a move that would seek to consolidate more Republican support and create an image that he will be the nominee. Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, who made a failed presidential bid, is among the potential picks being vetted.
Donald Trump, pressing his point that he views the nominating race as essentially finished, criticized that as a potential Cruz pick. "I think it would be a bad choice, not because she's a woman but because she did not resonate at all with people."
"It's too early to do it. And frankly, he's wasting his time because he's not going to be the nominee," Trump said.

“We ain’t seen nothing yet.”
That’s exactly what I’m afraid of.Possible assassination,CW2,martial law, suspension of election and due process-it’s all out there.
That would be the honorable thing to do since he has no clear path to getting 1237. Drop out Ted.
A VP pick never won anything for a presidential candidate....never.
You’re assuming Cruz is all about winning. Clearly that’s not the case. He seems intent on “Goldwatering” Trump. Picking a VP surrogate to dump slime on Trump fits that bill perfectly.
I guess a Pence endorsement too.
