That's silly. There's been almost no flip-flop anyone's been able to pin on Cruz. Certainly nothing like we see for most other candidates.
I agree Trump seems to be getting support for being a successful businessman and people thinking that means he'll be "good on the economy." For people who don't understand conservative vs. liberal ideology, it's easy to see how they could conclude that. But people who understand the ideology understand that you have to ask about a candidate's philosophy and positions on tax policy, etc. Trump doesn't have an advantage with those types of people because people like Art Laffer have said they like both his and Cruz' economic plans.
“That’s silly. There’s been almost no flip-flop anyone’s been able to pin on Cruz.”
TPP, Iran, Mexican border, H1B visas,,,, there’s plenty
Even those of us who saw Cruz as a second choice saw the truth when he took on Neil Bush and the Bush cabal. I was willing to overlook TPA and Coker, but going establishment with the Bush I was not going to overlook.
Blaming Trump and his supporters by siding with BLM and Moveon.org were too much. Since then it has been like reliving the Obama blame Bush game with Cruz. He never speaks but that it is some nasty half truth or lie about Trump.
He is NO conservative. He is a self serving jerk.
Really:
Here are 2 where Cruz pushes amnesty;

Here is whole mess of Cruz flip flops in his own words.

He's "evolved" on several issues and then made some statements that seem to go counter to being a hard core Constitutionalist - trying to leverage anything he can even if it means going against (at least verbally) his supposed idealism.
He talks tough on terrorists and how they need to understand that an attack is a death sentence for them and possibly their families, then he chastises Trump for the "rhetoric" of making a truthful statement that Islam hates us. He tells Kasich that he can't reach the requisite delegates so he should get out, then, when he is mathematically out of contention, decides he's going to "keep fighting for the People".
There's plenty of potential issues with Cruz if one has been paying attention with his eyes and ears open....and that's without TPP and some other "modifications" of hie "core beliefs".
If he actually announces Fiorina as his choice for Veep, it will be a pure pander move and add a extra layer of crisp to his toasted condition.
