In 1966, the national high school debate topic was about foreign aid. The points you made were debated in high schools, colleges, and in congress 50 years ago.
I guess the sensible people lost the debate. I know my parents used to get very angry about foreign aid to countries that hated us. We have made a lot of tin horn dictators rich, you would think they would love us. That is the other thing, the money almost never gets to the people that need the help.
