I always enjoyed Orbison's music, I thinks mostly because of his mastery of his voice. How lucky we all are that he shared it in "popular" music, rather than sequestered away on an opera stage where only a few would hear him. Think of his later work with the Traveling Wilburys. Everyone else sounds like a croaking frog when they take over the vocals.

Crying always had an emotional impact on me, bringing back memories of lost family and friends. Learning what it ment to Orion made it more powerful.

Rachmaninov: Symphony #2 in E minor, Op. 27, third movement

That clarinet solo in the first minute is heartbreakingly beautiful.

This is one of the most painful songs for me to listen to, its long, but very powerful.

David Sylvian - Wasn't I Joe

I was strong myself when I started, in on you... Wasn't I Joe? Normal strength?

Don't stay away too long love
I sense that somethings wrong
Don't stay away too long love
Don't stay away too long

And the minutes last a lifetime
We've mastered ways of moving slow
She took the children and the checkbook
Should I have really let her go?

Don't stay away too long love
Don't stay away too long

I was strong myself when I started, wasn't I Joe?

There's a moving recitation
Played out inside my head
With an eloquence I don't possess
I think its better left unsaid

Where's the examples that we needed
A man and wife who walk the line
Give me something to aspire to
Not in a lifetime, not in our lives

I was strong myself when I started, wasn't I Joe?

Don't stay away too long love
I know that somethings wrong
There's a sadness I can't live with
Don't stay away too long

Today's the day before I met her
And these things pass unrecognized
These are the shoes, that was the workplace
And this the car in which we cried

So many hours of conversation
I doubt there's anything left unsaid
No hope of reconciliation
Slowly pacing 'round my bed

And the walls hear no disturbance
The screaming from the insides too
She with left with everything we lived for
The everything of me and you

I was strong myself when I started, in on you... Wasn't I Joe? Normal strength?

I was strong myself when I started, wasn't I Joe? Wasn't I Joe?

Lifelines run throughout the notebooks
A life in letters scribbled out
There's no place left now for reflection
We're not leaving room for doubt

I've got you pictured in my mind love
You're off the bus and running free
I'll keep the memories and the pretense
The ghosts of who we used to be

And I'll be nothing like my father
We'll wash the sheets as if by hand
And you'll be nothing like my mother
We're abandoning the plan

Wasn't I Joe?
Wasn't I Joe?

I was strong myself when I started, in on you... Wasn't I Joe? Normal strength?

And sometimes life is frightening
And everything comes on strong
So we're holding on for dearlife
'Til something better comes along

'Til something better comes along
'Til something better comes along

I think the world is a much better place than I think it probably is if that song was on the jukebox in a bar in Minnesota. That must have been a funny 12 minutes of disturbing and awesome tunes.

But yeah, it’s the best I have come across for legit strait up cheating chicks. In the song he gets nailed with that crap multiple times and refuses to learn his lesson. There but for the grace of God go I.

Orbison's voice was unique and he died way too young, I can't believe he's been gone 27 years!

What a tragedy he had to endure but the voice and music he left us will live forever!
