As someone who was a loyal listener and fan of Rush since 88 or 89, I never thought I’d say this:

RUSH, JUST GO AWAY.

Below is my mini opus to Rush after yesterday’s show:

Between the mini monologue on what nickname to use for Trump, which, despite his protestations to the contrary, in his usage it is definitely delivered as a pejorative, and his snarky, peevish response to the last caller, Rush lost me today.

Too bad, as I listened to his show almost from its’ inception, and, to his credit, I learned a great deal from him.

So, Rush, I’m signing off today. Good luck.

I was also a loyal listener for many years. Rush’s brother David has been all in for Cruz from day one. Rush thought he would be more effective by taking a more stealthy approach, but he has been gas-lighting for Cruz all year. Rush has sacrificed far more for Cruz than Levin or even Beck.

Levin and Beck have always came across more as entertainers than serious intellectuals. Rush was considered by his followers as almost infallible. Backing a loser has pulled the curtain back and we now see that although he is very smart and makes keen observations his judgment can be clouded the same as anyone else. It sounds goofy, but this really is a serious problem for Rush.

The oxycontin legal problems 10 years ago didn’t make a dent in most people’s perception of Rush. A lot of us have problems with chronic pain and understand how easy it can be for people to get hooked on these types of pain killers. But trying to help someone win the presidency who most people can see has a serious problems with the truth, his personality, and leadership abilities has driven away a sizable percentage of Rush’s listeners most of whom will now never see him in the same way.

Rush has plenty of money. He will still be on the radio in one form or another. But his glory days are now behind him. All things are in God’s plan. It may even be time for him to take a rest and take care of his wife Kathryn. My prayers will be with them both.

It's sad, sickening and maddening that Rush stills refers to himself "the Mayor of Realville," when in fact, he's totally in the tank for Rafael "Ted" Cruz, and like so many of you have pointed out, he ignores the pertinent and important endorsements Mr. Trump receives, like Senator Sessions, but will fill an entire show boasting about Cruz.

But, my point is that I'm going to continue to listen to Rush because to do otherwise is to act like the "crybaby" FReepers here who have either left or received their well deserved ZOTS because Jim is the actual "Mayor of Realville" who realized weeks or perhaps months ago, that Mr. Donald Trump is the outsider, American Patriot, who actually puts Americans and America FIRST!
