"partner with the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis to provide on-site job training for young people"

WHY would Starbucks "need" to partner with the urban league for training?

Pretty sure you can get a job with Starbucks and get training, no matter how disadvantaged you are.

And train for what, exactly? To be a barista your whole life in Ferguson?

Not a great long-term career path.

... Not a great long-term career path.

But great PR for Starbucks.

I don’t think the goal is to have them working at Starbucks forever; libs seem to be gradually realizing that breeding welfare bastards has become so ingrained in young black women as a “career path” that they are devising schemes to get them to forego children for as long as possible. They’ll let them into colleges for which they are woefully unprepared and unqualified, give them government jobs via makework, anything to dangle hope in front of their eyes that life on the dole isn’t a good strategy.

A fried described a program decades ago in Newark NJ where a large insurance company would hire locals to file paperwork that was due to be shredded anyway; they desperately wanted to get them accustomed to the idea of getting out of bed in the morning and showing up for work somewhere. It is hard to exaggerate how far removed many “urban folk” are from the mainstream in terms of work ethic and such; people haven’t had a legitimate breadwinner in their family for generations at this point...
