Cruz was my guy and has run a ghastly campaign. I don’t recognize him anymore. He’s that bad. He couldn’t get elected to clean the streets.

I remember supporting Jack Kemp against Bush 1 in 1988. He was supposedly heir to Reagan, he said. Never gained traction. Had to switch to Bush, unfortunately.

But Cruz just poured manure all over himself and never stopped. He’s become a parody, a joke, and an absurdity. So Trump is my guy.

Agreed.

It was sad to watch al the self inflicted damage. It started with taking the South for granted. Trump didn’t he campaigned hard in the South and it started his run in an amazing way

Until the week of the Illinois primary we intended to vote Cruz, but after what he did to Dr. Ben Carson, we decided to vote Trump.

I'm embarrassed I ever supported Cruz and recommended him to others. At least, and this is comforting, I never sent him my family's money.

My story exactly. Cruz was the only one I looked at last spring when the campaign season started. He was the most conservative there was of the bunch, and even considered an outsider by his own party because of his fights against the establishment in the Senate. Who could be a better choice for the Republican nominee, right?

Well, I thought so too, until life intervened, and in June, Trump came on the scene with a big splash in the pool of GOP candidates and soaked everyone around poolside. I immediately thought to myself, this is the guy who can take it all. He is unlike anyone else running. He is unconventional but speaks in a way that makes the media and the Left ooze brain fluid. From that moment on, he was my guy.

Trump hasn't backed down in the face of a cacophony of criticism and detractors telling us he is "not presidential" and he would destroy the country with his unPC rhetoric. American likes a winner but what they like even more is a guy who against all odds, fights back and becomes that winner, despite all the establishment efforts to defeat him. People love him for that.

Oh, and by the way. I too am disgusted with Cruz. His stripes turned to spots over time and he became a different candidate than I first envisioned. But he needs to show some leadership now and gracefully bow out of this race. He had his chance and will have others. But this prolonged, desperate effort to continue make himself out as a winner when he is losing almost everything in sight, just confirms to me that he is not the man we need right now.

Bandwagon: Clear some more space. There will be a bunch more people jumping on board before this Trump train slows or stops. I predict Trump will win going away in November.

Ted Cruz - smart guy, but no common sense.

Cruz should have struck the word “Donald” from his vocabulary. He is obsessed. He had the chance to take the high road and be what we thought he was, but he showed that he was not an erudite thinker, but just another smarmy politician.

I feel the same way. Used to really like Cruz......now he is cartoonist. And that is one of the generous things I can say about him.

I agree with you. I was at first a Scott Walker supporter, then I switched to Cruz, and now I’m off his wagon. It appears that for conservative candidates, there is something corrosive or toxic about the Washington D. C. consultant class. Conservatives turn their campaigns over to the “professionals,” who enrich themselves and turn the candidate into crap.

If I didn’t know better, I would think it was deliberate. Well, actually, I do know better, and it really is deliberate.

Any conservative who hires these parasites is committing political suicide.

But to argue the other way, it might just be in the case of Cruz, that the glare of the presidential race has revealed a lot of flaws that he’d kept hidden from us all this time. People show their true souls when under pressure, and Ted Cruz’ ain’t all that pretty.

The Cruz campaign seems to have the disease the Dole campaign had.

I was a “Trump or Cruz” person, happy with either one and happy at the idea of a unity ticket. Happy with Cruz on the SC.

After watching this campaign - I don’t even want Cruz to remain in the Senate. He has no business near the federal gov’t. I’m not worried about him being on the SC because he’s alienated so many other Senators that he’d never get confirmed. A Trump/Cruz ticket would lessen my respect for Trump considerably.

In many ways, this was his race to lose. He did a fine job of it.

Cruz is a good, decent, guy.

I voted for Trump, but I desperately want Cruz to continue as a Senator or be our VP.
