Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is standing his ground in his belief that allowing transgender people to use the bathroom of their choice "opens the door for predators," dismissing criticism from Caitlyn Jenner, who mocked him over the issue last week.

This is what it's going to lead to...out by the edge of the parking lot.

I agree. It’s a pretty sure sign we are way beyond flawed that the issue is even coming up at this time. Just like having to vote on what marriage is.

But dude, the ones that are passable aren’t the problem here, right? It’s the ones that are obviously men who are in a froth about getting into the women’s bathroom who wouldn’t take the risk before. They might never do anything, ever, but women still have to be cool with that?

“the cost of adding extra bathrooms”

I agree;his first instinct is from a business perspective. And your right as well that Trump is not a politician and my wife and me cut him some slack when he answers these “gotcha” questions.

I’m pretty sure that’s a big reason he has 1004 delegates right now.

Well, Jenner is famous and recognizable, right?

Everyone knows he is a man who claims to be a woman who still digs women. So I guess it depends on what you think your women customers are willing to do about it. It’s your business, but I think choosing to let him use the women’s bathroom can’t help culture and society, no matter if your women customers are down for it.

Why did Trump say what he said?

Because the whole issue is a red herring, tossed up by Rats to divide the Right, and Trump refuses to buy into it. Because the issue, per se, on its own, is being divorced from its legal and cultural environment, its ramifications such as enforcement limitations, etc, because it addresses such a small part of the population.

Trump is therefore waiting to see if the fallout makes it an issue that won't distract from his attack on Hillary. Hillary is becoming front and center - anything that distracts from that is suspect of being a diversion attempt by her. Especially any subject that splits the Right, but not the Left, like this one does.

In short, Trump is guarding his fuel and staying on target towards Hillary. Of course, that's why Cruz is trying to make it as big as possible - he's running interference for Hillary. That's why he doesn't drop out, even though he can't win - to help Hillary.

So the ones who would dig being in the women’s exclusive areas would all have obviously been doing that anyway before this, no matter if they wanted to expend the effort to be passable or not?

I don’t buy it. Lower the bar and scum will rise to the top. It doesn’t seem that hard to figure out.

It seems like it wouldn’t be a big deal if women really don’t care, at least business wise. But man I didn’t think we were that far gone culturally. But I have a hard time imagining Trump doesn’t know what his women customers would be down for, so he might be right about this as a business decision.

As far as politically, all the blue collar dems I have spoken to about it think the dem leadership is whacked out on this issue. They know that men’s sexual attractions are different from women’s.

I think we all would agree that Cruz's argument is valid. The question is, should it be a FEDERAL issue ?

Seventeen comments in, and you were the first one to "get" that (what I otherwise would have assumed to be a) basic, elemental, conservative point.

Bless you. ;)

What about local government? Should local government be able to dictate who a business has to admit to their bathrooms?

More flailing and thrashing trying to find something that resonates because he is so tone deaf that he stopped resonating a long while ago. Anyone not see Carly as a pander-ploy that ignores his base (such as it is these days) and goes after those who are obsessed with sex over ability?

Well, I am going to vote for Trump, but I might be interested in Trump appointing Cruz the Public Restroom Czar.

*President Trump.

*Public Restroom Czar Cruz.

Now there is something I can get behind.

You don't really want to get "behind" that, now do you? LOL

Should local government be able to dictate who a business has to admit to their bathrooms?

Remember when businesses could have signs that said "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" ?

That was an example of 'conservative government'. That was an example of "Let the people decide".

Now, businesses are forced by government to do things against their will and moral values.

That is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Inch by inch our freedoms, our rights, our liberty have been taken away from us so that our corrupt politicians can stay in power by using the cries of the perverted and corrupt to SUE everyone into submission to a GODLESS RULING CLASS.

Completely agree. I don’t want any level of gov’t being able to tell businesses who can go in their bathrooms. The scary thing about this is that we are even having this discussion, but it’s not like sane people brought it up the first place, I suppose.

The other nutso thing is that women might not really care at this point. Which might be an even worse indicator for the level of culture we have now achieved.

RE: More flailing and thrashing trying to find something that resonates

What does your post have to do with Caitlyn Jenner and transgender bathrooms?

Shouldn’t you be supporting Cruz on this issue regardless even if you support Trump as the nominee?
