Around 20% of all food stamps are used at Walmart.

“He would probably never get past Colorado.”

Does pot for brownies count as food and thus can be purchased with food stamps?

Complaining to people in the checkout line is silly. If you have a complaint, make it to your Congresscritter.

You might as well complain to a rock, Baal, your dog, or perhaps aliens (not the ones from this planet).

So every time someone pulls out their EBT card you start shaming them? If you honestly did that, you probably would have gotten your teeth knocked out by now.

I am not an enabler, I just simply have manners.

Can’t say I agree with this woman’s tactics but people are getting really tired of how totally f-ed up our society has become. Their patience is starting to run on fumes.

If you ever want to go nuclear replace it with c—t, you may very well get your eyes gouged out, it’s like dropping the “N” word on a member of the black panthers..

True, they really don’t like that word. Especially the #$%$5 ones.

“This woman is way out of line. I don’t know what this man’s story is, and neither does she. She should mind her own business.”

I agree. Maybe he was/is a fraudster, maybe not. Just having foodstamps is, by itself, no crime - and there is no possible way that this lady could know, either way. I wish that no one needed it, but in many ways the government created the demand itself with its outrageous tax and regulatory policies that chase companies overseas. Some people can cope with that type of change more easily than others. So long as it doesn’t become a way of life, or there’s clear fraud, I have no trouble with a short term helping hand (emphasis on SHORT).

“I agree with you. Yes, there are a tremendous amount of people who abuse American generosity but this country is economically in the toilette. Why are there so many Dollar Tree stores in even wealthy areas? In my day, they were consigned to poor neighborhoods. Something is very wrong here.”

Very true, the Dollar General and “check advance” places are getting closer and closer to where I live.

I completely agree. Short term. I think a good majority of working people are one layoff from being on food stamps or other forms of government assistance. If I got laid off, I might be one of them if I don’t get a job before my savings evaporates.

It IS her business. She’s paying for his groceries. So are you and I.”

So that gives you a right to shame people who use them? You are unbelievable.

I recall standing behind a woman who was buying food I couldn’t afford with her Lone Star card.

The cashier asked her if she wanted the receipt and the woman turned away, dismissing the clerk with a backwards wave of her hand. (She certainly didn’t appear needy. She did appear too busy thinking she deserves others to support her to EVEN KEEP TRACK of what she spent.

Before she got out of earshot I proclaimed rather loudly “ I’ll Take That Receipt, It Was My Tax Dollars That Paid For It”.

The look on the cashiers face was priceless LOL! Seemed everyone in line behind me grew very quiet.

A man using EBT is very rare.

Was behind a gal and her four very small children at our local Kroger in Houston suburbs. She was wearing a head scarf and long dress with long sleeves. She commented to the checker that she loved shopping in the United States because we had more variety than where she shopped in Syria. Paid for her almost $300 worth of groceries with an EBT card and also picked up an additional two sacks of groceries that someone had donated.

They were parked next to me in the parking lot and I noticed her bearded husband was driving but did not get out to help her load the groceries or the children into the car but remained in the car reading some kind of book. Just had to shake my head at the entire scenario.

Yes, I think we have seen people with food stamps behave in such a manner, and it is upsetting. I don’t think shaming people and losing manners with people is the best way to fight such a problem. Certainly not in the way the woman in the video carried herself. Like I said in a previous comment, many people in the country are just one job loss away from being on food stamps themselves.

I have had family members that needed them, they certainly don’t anymore.

[ It’s impossible to win an argument with a stupid person ]

That’s why I stopped trying to reason with facts and history to Obama supporters many, many years ago. It was a complete waste of time. And, perhaps dangerous, in one situation.

Well I could take your comment either way and I think both are correct. That is you might as well complain to a rock, Baal, your dog or perhaps aliens as either the guy in line or your Congresscritter. Still your Congresscritter can change the incentives the guy in line ahead of you faces, he can’t change the incentives he faces.
