What makes him think they were trusted to begin with. The GOP has betrayed the voters over and over.

He is now an actor, writer, and Ph.D. candidate in Political Science.

Actor? Really?

Some opportunistic politicians, like Governors Chris Christie and Paul LePage, endorsed Mr. Trump early on in the hopes of future personal benefit. (Mr. LePage, for example, privately proposed that the GOP disavow Mr. Trump on February 20. Six days later, he endorsed him. What else could explain that change besides pure political calculation?)

Most endorsements are "political calculations." I'd be more amenable to Mr. Actor Who Worked For George W. Bush's argument if he recognized that no candidate is ideal, and that there were valid reasons why someone might have seen Trump as preferable to other candidates, even if they still had qualms about him.

Disappointment's a very common thing in politics. Voters will probably be disappointed with Trump. But they're supporting him now because they've been so disappointed by other politicians (very much including Bush).

Ha. This person was a Communcations person during the waning days of the shush administration where White House communcations was literally the worst ever in history, and then for the Senate during a period of incompetence. Who the hell cares what his/her opinion is.

Simply he cannot win. Most social conservatives will not pull for him, many fiscal cons should question it considering how bad he is with other peoples’ money, and Libertarians can’t stand him.

An actor, a writer, A PHD!!!

In other words, someone who's never done anything useful his entire life.

Seriously? Tell me who you think CAN win? Cruz has revealed himself as utterly unsuited for any kind of leadership role. I always used to wonder why a small number of freepers disliked him, well before this campaign, but now he’s made the re as on plain to see.

I for one don’t understand the hate on for Cruz.

I think Ben Carson could win. If we get to a contested convention maybe he could come out of it?

Dave, buddy, let me be the one to break it to you: you folks never paid the slightest attention to us over the last eight lamentable years, so why should we worry about you "remembering" us now? You won't. You can't.

But you can trust me, Dave, at least this far: YOU'RE FIRED.
