My party no longer exists Trump may have popular support but he remains a New York liberal I do not consider this a victory for conservatives I will be watching tonight to see if he can give me any reason to yet again hold my nose and pull the lever for a candidate I have little in common with philosophically

If Trump hadn't run, who would you have supported?

If Jeb would have been declared the nominee, you'd be right on this board telling us that we have to hold our nose or else Hillary will win.

This election is completely unprecedented and is not based on traditional ideology. Our identity of our nation is at stake here.

Oh well. Then write Cruz in and stop complaining.

>>My party no longer exists

I can sure understand that. The GOP that I kept hoping still existed hasn't been around for years.

As for Trump, he's been quite gracious in post-primary speeches. I sure hope you are able to give him another look. Much of his platform is quite conservative. He's a different style candidate than we're used to, but I truly believe he is pro-America, a very competent, common sense leader, and old enough to remember what it was like growing up in America during what was, in many ways, her better days.

My party no longer exists

If you were the most conservative of a reasonable conservatives, then you only represented 15%-20% of the party.

Perhaps you lost perspective on exactly how much influence your little corner of the party had on the party.

"My party no longer exists"

Mom-MD, it hasn't In 30 years...

A poster who's name escapes me has been mentioning Hegelian Dialect as a means to play us. Not just the DNC but IMHO so has the RNC since 92' ( the prescient Speech by Pat Buchanan in 92' at the RNC Convention ). I believe also employing the Hegelian Dialect is Beck, Levin, and Rush. They are all screwing us and I have had it. We go to them for our mutual Bitchfest to complain, they are gate keepers, the GOP throws us a bone once and a while, but for 30 years we have been having our asses handed to us. If Trump "fixes it" why do I need Rush, Beck or Levin as a pass trough of what is really happening? They are out of a job.

Sadly Trump is the only "Italian Salute" we can give them all.

"I do not consider this a victory for conservatives"

I agree, is he a common sense moderate that will probably disappoint us as well? Yes, that is the best I can hope for. You and I have conservatism in our hearts. I fear it will take a generation or two when it is truly understood and "cool" again, forget the millennials, don't even get me started on them...

I'll make this easy for you: you'll either vote for Trump, or by default, give your vote to Hillary Rotten Criminal.

Stop crying in your cornflakes, suck it up, and get with the program, ok?

Your Republican party was only Conservative when Reagan was president.

I believed the GOP was conservative but eight years of the GOP rolling over Obama finally wised me up.

Please see the GOP for the self-serving Global Elites that they have always been.

It's really not so bad.

There is a good case for Trump from a conservative perspective. There is a good case for Trump from a Christian perspective.

What's really bad is Hillary. If you want your kids (and you) to grow up under tyranny, just allow her a few years. It will be brutal.

Yet you probably had no problem voting for Romney in 2012? Your party no longer exists because it was taken over by the globalist scumbags like the Bushes, McCain, Romney, Bush proxy Cruz, etc. It is about time they nominated an American.

If he stops what Hillary had planned, it is a win for you. Sometimes you have to accept a win.

//My party no longer exists T//

You think it existed with Romney? McCain? Bush?? If so, you haven’t been paying attention.

Conservatism is more than one or two social issues - putting America first, dealing with Illegals and protecting our rights IS Conservative and that is TRUMP, not globalist Cruz.

What has our party done for us? We've elected Tea Party conservatives to Congress in '10, '12, & '14. What has that brought us? Nothing!! Absolutely nothing!!! Now the PEOPLE have spoken!

“There is NOTHING more conservative than stopping a permanent democrat/marxist voting majority and doing whats best for the people and the country. By virtue of Mr.Trump’s position on illegal immigration he “Trumps” all others conservatism.”
