Think you've nailed it. The enormous ego's of Levin, Beck and Limbaugh have been badly bruised, as they aren't nearly as important as they thought themselves to be.
They remind me of other celebrities who think their public hangs on every word they speak.
These folks are completely out of touch with with everyday citizens, just like most of our elected officials.
I’ve graced Rush in for years, overlooking some things that bothered me. Nobody is perfect. He was IMO still the best thing on the air.
His grasp of core Conservatism was usually pretty rock solid, and folks needed to hear that.
It as my take that at many times, the criticism about Rush by the Left was tantamount to them trashing folks like Dole, McCain, and Romney types, because “they were too Conservative.”
No, they weren’t. It was all part of the demonization of “Conservatism”.
So I would hear the Left trashing Rush for being too Conservative, and smile.
I still like Rush, but what he is doing right now is literally self-destructive.

The amnesia today is remarkable. Nobody recalling Cruz insulting Trump supporters as low info, etc. Cruz dished it as good as got it and this feigned outrage at Trump’s off hand comments is pure Alinsky propaganda.
