They hate their opposition, and therefore they do not respect their opposition.
They truly believe that those who oppose them are stupid, are dishonest, don't understand how the world works, don't understand money, don't understand economics, or anything else.
They really believe this. They think in clichés that they learned when they were in college. They are victims of arrested development.
That's a very important weakness, which I think Trump knows how to exploit.
