While Rush’s career does have a slight overlap with the Reagan years, his is actually embedded in the Bush-Clinton years, with this hiatus of Obama. During that time, the Reagan revolution was deconstructed, and the neocons have stolen the term ‘conservative’ and applied it to themselves. Two generations have come now for whom Ronald Reagan is essentially just a name, while Bushes and Clintons have established policy, such as it is.

Yep. I do. He has always struck me as the barking chihuahua at the window. I’ve always been underwhelmed, and now I’m downright disgusted. That doesn’t change the fact that he is a presence and of interest to fans and critics alike.

For me, it's not about aligning around my principles, it's about aligning around my goals. I can tolerate a less principled candidate as long as I think he's best positioned to achieve my goals. Of course, there is a minimum principles line I won't cross, but I don't think that Trump is anywhere near that line. But we have to win the election first for any of it to matter, and I don't think the "principled" Cruz has the general crossover appeal to win.So what are my goals? Right now, they are simple: first, build the wall; second, screw Mitch McConnell. We can go from there.
So who's in the best position to do that?
I know you want ideological principles, but you also have to figure out how you're willing to weigh and trade off adherence to principles with alignment of goals.

Why don’t you bring it up to our guest then? So many people with ideas on how to run his website; why not pass the idea in front of the one with authority?
Personally I want to hear the death rattles of a number of sources, National Review first and foremost. Can’t hear it if they are banned.

That’s fine, I was just asking a question in light of the way Rush and Levin have lately morphed into ardent Cruz supporters. Glad she supports Trump too.
Levin is trying to make Trump accountable for stuff the so-called conservatives, who are in the House and Senate, have failed to do since they got in office.
It is the same ole litany of conservative rhetoric: cut taxes, reduce the size of government, yada yada yada.

I second that. I despise the L&L Brothers (Levin and Limbaugh), but enjoy venting my frustration of wasting my time being a long time listener. Plus, we get the privilege of seeing both of them crash with funny color commentary to boot.
