Well the problem for Britain is that the Elgin marbles aren’t theirs.
They stole them from Greece’s Parthenon.
True sort of.
The Ottomans gave them permission to take them, and they paid for them.
So they have a “legit” claim, albeit one that is less than kosher in light of how it all went down.
