Perhaps this is related to what was reported on another thread that President Obama has stepped up releasing “non-violent” criminals (read drug dealers) from prison. He knows that the Taliban sales and marketing channels are going to need more employees!

Burn the fields, salt the earth, shoot anyone who tries to intervene.

Takes a lot of logistical support to move all that. I wonder which country is helping them. US? Russia? Germany? Makes me think of ‘The Corporation’ in Catch-22.

reminds me of the line, used several times in "An American Carol": the poppy crop was very good this year.

What a great movie!

We don’t seem to want to bomb terrorists ..

Bomb the poppies ..

Minimal collateral damage

Have the pharmaceutical companies do business there. Anyone who has traveled to Tasmania knows that there are endless opium poppy fields used for opioid based pain killers.

Take some drones, add crop-dusting equipment, and dust all the poppy fields with a persistent herbicide.

Can’t napalm them — after the first field, the Taliban will tie up kids as human shields for the poppies, and video anything which happens to them.

Draft the Mexican cartels to burn the Taliban’s crops... and kill them.

The Taliban made growing of the poppy illegal when they ruled. Pretty well had it stamped out.

Most of U.S. heroin is grown in Mexico and regions south.
