Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump says he does not have the governor of South Carolina on his list of potential running mates.

"No, not Nikki Haley. She wasn't under consideration," Trump told Fox News anchor Bret Baier on Thursday after Baier noted she was on a reported list of people Trump is looking at.

Haley has said she has no interest in the job, though she said she would be backing him as the nominee.

Guessing at VP candidates is fun, but nobody knows or will know who it is until Trump announces...

My bet is that it will be a really good pick of someone who will help Trump to help Americans and America...

GOOD. Nikki Haley doubled-down on bashing Trump.

Take a hike, Nikki.

She made it clear yesterday that she’s not interested.

"Children of foreign nationals are not natural born citizens. Haley, Jindal, Cruz and Rubio are not eligible."

Exactly. Besides, how is Trump supposed to deport all these court created anchor babies if they're elected to high office? ;)

Nikki was among the first to jump on the anti-Trump bandwagon - happened when Macy’s, ESPN, and others tried to punish Trump for not being PC. This was followed by her response to Obama’s SOTU where she went soft on Obama and went negative on Trump. Also, she is not a nbc.

I love Sarah! I really do!
But IMHO I think she’d be a liability to Trump at this point.

Personally I’m hoping he chooses Sessions.

"...Sarah Palin would make libtards heads spin uncontrollably..."

I am all in on that. We could use it to generate power or something.

Another RINO that fooled a lot of Tea Party types, Gov Nikki has been a disappointment for sure.

There must be some close advisor to the President who understands the degree to which his policies will be undermined and thwarted by the protected class of bureaucrats in every level of the federal government, and who will keep the President informed of such tenured civil "servants." The attitudes of many of those bureaucrats is that they were there when he came, and they will be there after he's gone.

Up to now, they have suffered no consequences. Will a President Trump find ways to see that "make America great again" efforts are not stymied and stopped at some bureaucrat's desk?

She did not fit the published criteria and she is not from a battleground state. I would expect Gov. Martinez and Sen. Ayotte to be considered rather than Gov. Haley for those reasons, but not Gov. Haley. It’s not a beauty contest; it’s about winning the Presidency and governing.

Actually they would love to see Trump pick Palin. In terms of national electability she’s damaged goods. I like her, but it’s true. He needs someone with as they said in 2000, “gravitas”.

Gov. Palin for VP or Head of DOE is a no-brainer,
and we all trust Mr. Trump will do the right thing.

What a day that will be for America after the
phoney, undocumented Islamic terrorist who destroyed
the FBI, the DOJ, the Pentagon, the CIA, .....

That is undoubtedly how the “smart” guys at the GOPe see it. They probably thought much the same thing about their nominee in May 1980. I am glad it won’t be Haley.

Not necessarily. The nominee is a high risk- high reward candidate. I have my own misgivings but, come, embrace the suck!
