Yes. I'm a purist Conservative. Thank you for the compliment.

It disgusts me that some so-called “conservatives” try to covertly sell FReepers on Obamabot Democrat politicians.

They always throw out some token disqualifier that they’re “not” endorsing so-and-so DemonRat for office, BUT.... so-and-so DemonRat is a decent, honorable, patriotic, old-fashioned conservative, bible-belivin’ Christian, salt-of-the-earth, scot-irish, blah blah blah... STATESMEN who cares about his constituents, looks out for the veterans, and would do a wonderful job in so-and-so public office.

We used get this kind of BS all the time when Al Gore’s hand-picked running mate LIEberman was Senator and that lying piece of garbage Joe Manchin was Governor. They’d talk up Manchin all the time and then flat out deny that they’re touting him to conservatives: “I didn’t vote for Manchin, he’s NOT my candidate, but as far as Democrats go, he’s one of the few good, honorable, conservative, patriotic ones. He has been an outstanding Governor for... blah blah blah blah”.

These “conservatives” got LIEberman another term where he promptly went on to cast a tie-breaking to the Senate under Harry Reid’s thumb and cast the 51st vote for Obamacare. These “conservatives” got Manchin a nice cushy career in Washington, where he promptly turned traitor after running as a “pro-gun” Democrat.

Either they are useful idiots who are extremely gullible and easily fooled by Dems who “sound” reasonable, or they are outright Dem plants who register here and pretend to be conservatives for the purpose of promoting socialists to GOP voters.

There is a list of people Trump is looking at. Ted Cruz is not feasible as a choice. He does good work in the Senate and I hope he continues to do so.

Choices I’ve heard are Christ Christie, Mike Huckabee, Marsha Blackburn, Paul LePage, and Mary Fallin. However, Christie is not popular back home and Fallin had a very messy divorce back in the day. Huckabee is nothing great and did a poor job of party-building, but he has celebrity and a friendly style. LePage has a Horatio Alger life story which could play well, but he’s untested on the national stage. At this time, I think Blackburn is the best choice.

There is also talk that Trump may choose a retired four-star general, though I’ve heard no names.

Cruz has to be the running mate. Zero’s Cuddle Buddy Stay Puft and the RINO fake from Arkansas who loves open borders and pardoning murderers will be an instant disqualifier for me.

Some random General would be a poor choice, as would Cristy Creme, Suckabee, or the Gecko.

A dead man would be a peculiar choice, but still better than Gingrich or Huckabee.

YOU- of all people... might appreciate my suggestion/efforts.

>>> I had some fun today, and did something that might bear fruit. I went to my local post office and sent the Trump Team a total of seven certified letters that contained my suggestion for a VP pick.

1- Mr Donald Trump
2- Mr Corey Lewandowski
3- Ms Ivanka Trump
4- Mr Donald Trump JR
5- Mr Eric Trump
6- Mr Jared Kushner
7- Manatt, Phelps and Phillips

My choice: Peter G. Fitzgerald. The former US Senator, GOP, representing IL., 1998-2004.

I’ll provide the links/documentation that I sent to the Trump Team.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/2004/02/12/retiring-senator-stood-up-for-principles.html

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Fitzgerald_(politician)

And a letter from me, why he’s my pick...

Dear Mr. Trump, (I ad-libbed... The man is golden!)

I am contacting you today to suggest a person that I believe is worthy of consideration for the position of Vice President in a Trump Administration. The person’s name is Peter Goslin Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald last held the position of United States Senator, as a Republican: representing the State of Illinois, serving as one of Illinois’s two U. S. Senators, for one full term; spanning the years 1998 – 2004.

Prior to being elected to the US Senate, Mr. Fitzgerald served a full term as an Illinois State Senator, from 1993 through 1998. He was an anti-establishment candidate, and was elected in that cycle with a group of four other anti-establishment candidates, known collectively as “The Fab Five.”

As you may already know, Illinois is one of the most politically corrupt states in the nation, having consecutive governors convicted of felonies, resulting in incarceration in Federal prison, incredibly- serving a portion of their sentences at the same time! Former Governor, Republican- George Ryan, and former Governor, Democrat- Rod Blagojevich, are exhibits One, and Two, for proof positive of systemic corruption on both sides of the aisle in Illinois politics.

Just as Washington, D.C., is a viper’s pit of politicians, forming a cabal, commonly referred to as the Uni-Party, so too, is Illinois, and more specifically Chicago. The local name used to describe this unholy alliance, is “The Combine.”

Mr. Fitzgerald, ran against the Republican Party’s, establishment candidate in the GOP Primary, in 1998, defeating sitting Illinois Comptroller, Loleta Didrickson. He then went on to face the Democrat’s U. S. Senate candidate: incumbent U. S. Senator, Carol Mosely-Braun. Senator Braun was the first female, and first African American, to be elected to the U. S. Senate. To say that the Illinois GOP establishment was less than enthused in helping Mr. Fitzgerald win his election, would be a gross understatement.

I worked on his campaign as a volunteer, from January, through mid-October, and as paid staff, the final three weeks, in the run up to election-day. My primary job was to pick up and deliver campaign materials throughout the state of Illinois, and on occasion, manufacture 4’ x 8’ yard/field signs. I also delivered all manner of materials, to include bumper stickers, handouts, voter guides, yard/field signs, polling day footprint signs, etc. I delivered these materials to county coordinators, some of which were GOP establishment apparatchiks. On many deliveries, I would discover that the materials from previous deliveries sat stockpiled and unused. The intentional hoarding was to prevent the distribution of said materials, in an effort to harm Mr. Fitzgerald’s chances for election.

I bring this last detail up to reinforce the fact that Mr. Fitzgerald had to fight his own party and his opponent, in the primary, and again his own party and his opponent in the general election.

Mr. Fitzgerald’s U. S. Senate record speaks for itself. He cast several votes in the best interest of the citizens of both Illinois, and the United States, earning the ire of many in his own party, especially the party hacks in Congress (House of Representatives) resulting in U. S. Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert , from Yorkville, IL., and U. S. Representative, Ray LaHood, from Peoria, Il., approaching Mr. Fitzgerald, to convey to him- the IL. GOP Party’s plans to primary him in the upcoming election.

Mr. Fitzgerald, reasoned that he could fight his opponent, but to fight his own party once again, this time at the Federal level, was a hill he wasn’t interested in climbing. That, coupled with the fact that his son Jake, who was 12 years old at the time, and would be 18 and off to college at the end of his second U. S. Senate term, meaning- the entire 18 years of his life would be impacted by Mr. Fitzgerald’s public service, was a price too high for Mr. Fitzgerald and his family to pay.

Fast forward: Dennis Hastert has been sentenced to Federal prison for failing to report withdrawals of large sums of money, as he is purported to have been paying a blackmailer off, for what is allegedly a bribe to keep quiet for sexual misconduct to a student, or students, while coach of wrestling teams at Yorkville High School.

Ray LaHood, having successfully taken Mr. Fitzgerald out of the U. S. Senate race, one that was ultimately won by the relatively unknown Barack Hussein Obama, was nominated by (now) U. S. President Obama, for his Transportation Secretary. Incredible coincidence? Hardly. Illinois/Washington, D. C., politics at it’s finest, or more appropriately- at it’s worst!

Mr. Fitzgerald, self-financed much of his primary and again his general election campaign by loaning millions of his own dollars to his effort.

Mr. Fitzgerald, may in fact, not be interested in returning to public service, having left the public eye in 2004, in order to return to the family business of banking. I would be remiss in not suggesting this fine man as a possible candidate for such an important position as Vice President of the United States. This man’s character is beyond reproach. He epitomizes an anti-establishment candidate, and shares many attributes with Mr. Trump.

Please give consideration to Mr. Fitzgerald when seeking someone to stand along Mr. Trump, in order to Make America Great Again! Mr. Fitzgerald, and Mr. Trump, should they meet, might enjoy comparing their battle scars.

Thank you very much,
XXXXX XXXXXX

Freepers- Before discounting this suggestion, please read about Peter Fitzgerald, at the links provided.

Thank you. ;O)

Sen. Fitzgerald is a good man who didn’t deserve the full-on bipartisan assault by the IL Combine (which paved the way for Zero’s rise to power). However, I think he’s pretty much out of the politics game. I’ve not heard a peep from him in over 11 years, and I don’t believe he is a resident of Illinois anymore (who can blame him ?).

True dat! He’s in Virginia, running a bank. I added, in my petition- that Fitzgerald would likely say no! However- Trump, may only do 4 years as POTUS, so a VP, may be in good steed for POTUS. There’s only been five VP’s, that have advanced to the position of POTUS. Woot! Woot! Peter Fitzgerald is beyond reproach! Me too! Takes one to know one! I would walk across burning coals for Fitzgerald! HE GOT FIRED! By SCUM!!! Hastert is in PRISON! LaHood has no shame, and served Obama, so as to get another lucrative pension! GO TO HELL YOU SCUM BAG RINO LAHOOD!!!

If Trump nominates anyone from Illinois, I hope he’d choose Ray LaHood. Republicans should like him because, while he was in Congress, he usually voted conservatively. His ratings from the National Right to Life Committee and the National Conservative Union were usually about 95%. His ratings from the ACLU and AFLU-CIO were usually about 5%. Democrats should like him because he was in Obama’s cabinet.

I hope that Trump’s running-mate will be Bobby Jindal. He’s a conservative former congressman and governor of a swing state. I thought that Louisiana was mostly republican until last year, when they elected a democrat for governor. After they win, I hope Trump will nominate these people for these offices: Sec. of State, ex-Sec. of the Interior Dirk Kemthorne; Sec. of Treasury, ex-Sec. of Agriculture Ed Schafer; Sec. of Defense, ex-Sec. of HUD Mel Martinez; Amb. to the UN, ex-Sen. Judd Gregg; Sec. of Homeland Security, ex-Sen. George Allen; and Attorney General, ex-Congressman John Sweeney.

Phil, surely you can’t be serious. LaThug is an abomination of the highest order. The Republican enforcer of the Combine who was charged with destroying Sen. Peter Fitzgerald and running him from office by any means necessary. His actions directly were responsible for the election and elevation of Zero from an ineffective and obscure State Senator to the U.S. Senate and the Presidency.

There are no words one can state on a family-friendly website that could describe “LaThug” and the damage he inflicted upon the nation with his antics, but it is comparable to Benedict Arnold, and quite possibly worse. I would not reward him with my asparagus-laden urine if he were on fire.

I’m very serious. I agree that then-Congressman LaHood worked with the combine and that he helped persuade then-Sen. Fitzgerald to retire.

I also know that, while LaHood was in Congress, he usually voted conservatively. In Sept. 2006, I researched LaHood’s voting record. According to www.vote-smart.org, these are his 2005 ratings from some interest groups: NARAL, 0%; NOW, 29%; NAACP,30%, AFL-CIO, 21%; Americans for Democratic Action, 5%; Children’s Defense Fund, 0%; American Conservative Union, 65%; Americans for Tax Reform, 79%; U.S.
Chamber of Commerce, and 92%. After that, he became more conservative.

As the Combine Enforcer, his “persuasion” was along the lines of a common criminal pointing a Saturday Night Special at you and saying, “Your money or your life.”

His votes are irrelevant, his ACTIONS are high treason.

Jeb. He’s the first to suggest Jeb as far as I know.

Seriously, Jeb? I urge Congressman Issa to contact his physician immediately, he may have neurological damage, or maybe he was just high from sniffing glue.
