Ryan was stuck between a rock and a hard place. At least he let it be known which side of that he attaches his loyalty to. The #NeverTrump people are still working on their narrative, and Ryan wasn't smart enough to have anticipated a response to the possibility of Trump being the last man standing well in advance of the convention.

I can think of many ways he could have masked his contempt, while supporting Trump for the nomination. Presidents and Congress don't ever agree on everything, and it is Congress that passes the laws. He could say that, and support the will of the people, and push the "support Trump's agenda" issue into the future.

I'm glad he reacted the way he did. It ended up putting the fact of tension between the president and Congress into a view, and can affect congressional races. Do you want your congressman to support Trump?

The fact that he went public with this was pretty chick bleep, and Trump knows it. It’s basically sending Trump a message, of who’s in charge here.

My congressman is a Dem.He’ll be Hillary all the way. Completely braindead Dem.

Ryan’s reaction was ridiculous. It was so mealy mouthed, I was wondering when he was going to utter the punchline to his very bad joke.

What purpose did it serve except to delay any kind of healing in the GOP?

What is doubly laughable is that there has been no real tension between the Congress and the President for over 7 years, regardless of who was in charge of Capitol Hill.

That is what has been unmasked for all of us.

Now that Trump has won the primary, I don’t think the morons in DC should be setting any terms at all.

The smarter political animals are getting on the Trump Train and trampling each other in the process.

Someday, these GOP clowns in DC will realize that Trump saved the GOP as a political party. Anyone else, like Low Energy Jeb, would have lost so badly, the GOP would go the way of the Whigs.

The way I feel about the GOP, that was kinda the plan all along.
