Rubio delegates urge Trump to make Florida senator his VP
Washington Examiner ^ | 05/06/2016 | GABBY MORRONGIELLO

Nearly a half-dozen Louisiana delegates who previously supported Marco Rubio released a letter on Thursday pledging to back Donald Trump at the convention and calling on the presumptive Republican nominee to choose Rubio as his running mate.

"Previously being undeclared after supporting Sen. Marco Rubio, the five undersigned delegates feel it is important to coalesce around one candidate and begin the process of party unity for the ultimate goal of defeating the Democratic challenger in the fall," wrote the "Rubio Five."

The letter, which was obtained by the Washington Examiner, continued, "We firmly believe the process of achieving consensus involves not only supporting the presumptive nominee but also asking him to listen to the will of the other voters who may not have originally supported him."

“For the hundredth time........the Gang of Eight bill is identical to what Trump has proposed. He simply uses a dumbed-down, elementary explanation. He will send them back, bring the good ones back in and create a pathway to citizenship if they stay “good”. It is also referred to as touchback.”

Nonsense. The Gang of 8 bill was 844 pages. Trump has proposed nothing like that.”

He didn’t have to propose it, he financially supported most of the Gang of Eight himself and then chose the aspects he liked from the bill, which he has mostly in the past supported as well.

I choose none of the above.

What’s funny about Cruzers spouting the nonsense about Trump’s “amnesty” is that Cruz’s CYA Gang of 8 amendments can be taken either way. It was slick lawyer move designed so he could play both sides of the issue. So he could later claim he either made the bill better or he helped defeat it. Since the bill went down to defeat in the House he’s claiming he helped defeat it. Typical lawyer double talk and his deluded supporters eat his lawyer BS up. Hilarious. LOL.

Trump doesn’t need Rubio to win FL. Obama beat Romney by less than 1% with record black turnout. Hillary won’t get that turnout.

No but Hillary will get the benefit of Spanish media (which is HQ’d in Miami) whipping Hispanics up into an Anti-Trump frenzy.

If Trump gets blown out in South Florida and loses Tampa-Orlando badly it makes it real tough for him to win the state. Impossible really. That might just be the entire election right there.

They’re pretty good reasons and I really dislike Rubio.

” Since the bill went down to defeat in the House he’s claiming he helped defeat it.”

Amazing, even after the campaign is apparently over, Trumpsters still want to spread this nonsense about Cruz.

To set the record straight one more time, it was Cruz who was meeting and strategizing in the basement of a D.C. pizza parlor with Steve King and the rest of the House Freedom Caucus trying to defeat the Gang of 8 bill. And even one of Trump’s biggest backers, Jeff Sessions, said Cruz played a major role in defeating the Gang of 8:

I’m not sure what you Trump people hope to accomplish continuing to lie about Ted Cruz. I guess like your Der Leader who continues to push nonsense JFK conspiracy theories, you just can’t help yourselves.

You have to realize that they have to continually rationalize why they voted for a devout liberal who will continue to drift quickly to leftist positions now that we’re in the general election phase, until there will bepractically no difference between Hitlery and Deceptive Donnie.

It’s also similar to his response on why he voted for the Corker Bill.

A really tortured explanation as to why he voted for something he says he was against.

And people just lapped it up.

I think he voted for the Corker Bill because he was for it, which is generally why people vote for things.

I never supported Cruz. I voted for Trump in my primary. The truth is what trump has proposed is touchback, and is imbecilic for anyone to not accept this as his touchback. Yep, the gang of eight is a long protracted gov bill and it could have been simplified with pretty much what Trump has proposed.
