Democrats See Danger in Trump’s Developing Anti-Clinton Strategy

Listen for a few minutes to Republicans in the “Never Trump” camp, and you’d think the outcome of November 8’s election a foregone conclusion. Donald Trump’s unfavorables are so high, they argue, his bridges to minority voters so thoroughly burnt, that Hillary Clinton will inevitably trounce him in a landslide akin to Lyndon Johnson’s historic victory against Barry Goldwater in 1964.

But talk to Democratic strategists and you’ll hear a different story. Despite Clinton’s persistent lead in the polls, many of them are far from sanguine about her prospects against the presumptive Republican nominee. They view Trump’s ability to harness the anger of America’s dispossessed white working class as a powerful threat in several Midwestern swing states, especially now that he’s openly courting Bernie Sanders supporters and aping the Vermont senator’s rhetoric on trade. They worry the New York real-estate mogul’s brash, bullying campaign style could throw the easily flustered Clinton off balance, upending her campaign at a crucial moment. And they fear that a relentlessly negative campaign would turn women voters away from politics altogether, depriving Clinton of the votes she’ll need to overcome Trump’s likely advantage with white men.....

.......“Donald Trump was always going to be the hardest candidate, because he is so unconventional. . . . I think this has the potential to be as close as the 2000 election.”

------------------------------------------------

“This attack on the elites, this populism is a right-left phenomenon,” says Hank Sheinkopf, a New York–based Democratic strategist and a veteran of past Clinton campaigns. “Bernie Sanders used it. Donald Trump is going to use it. And Hillary Clinton will be portrayed as an elitist who doesn’t understand the economic dilemma that people who work for a living are having.”

Wow, some real deep thinkers. Who would have ever imagined that this could be the new ideological battleground. We’ll see.

translation: We think Trump will carry at least 40 states.

Contrary to the mantra from pussified GOP strategists, Democrats fear Trump.

They know he’s not a walkover and he appeals to a broad range of Americans fed up with the country’s decline.

And the Democrats’ primary battle is far from over.

Read the snippet of the article and a scene in Star Wars Episode IV comes to mind.

It’s the one where the officer says to Grand Moff Tarkin that they’ve analyzed the rebels’ attack and there is a danger.

Tarkin poo poohs it and says, “you overestimate their chances.”

We know how that turned out.

So much nonsense in one article, I don't know where to start.

These types have been writing Trump's political obituary for almost a year now. Their attacks make him stronger. His supporters become even more attached to him. His campaign has the air of inevitability.

It’s called an election and there never was a reason to believe she is such a winner so I wish they’d stop with that nonsense.

No, no, Hillary is going to win. Just calm down and eat your vegan meal, drink your soy milk. There, there.

This will be great to see finally. Hillary is so protected by the media she has never faced scrutiny. I have always said the only people who can take out Hillary are the Berners but Bernie blew it when he said “I don’t give a damn about your emails.” But seeing how the media is covering Trump non stop they will be forced to cover what Trump is saying about Hillary.

Wasn’t the National Review deeply ensconced in the Never Trump camp? What, has their readership fallen off so drastically that they have now become Trump supporters, or are they finally realizing why Trump was needed for the election. Either way, hop aboard the Trump train and we shall ride it to victory in November and beyond.

PORTRAYED as???? She is an elitist who has rarely if ever done an honest day's work in her life! Easy to 'portray' her as what she is!

bullying campaign style could throw the easily flustered Clinton off balance,

Ha... "easily flustered" does not make a good president....or dog catcher.

...and in the case of prospective dog catcher....being off balance is not a career enhancement.

I think one of Trump's best anti-hillary strategies is he stopped donating money to her.

That right there has to count for something.

I wonder if we should pull the list of hillarys biggest donors so we can predict our next republican presidential nominee.

Another panty-waist article with someone out of touch with reality.

Trump is not “aping” Bernie Sanders on trade, that’s total out-of-your-rearend Democrat talking point daydreaming...

He will capture new voters, left and right, on his trade policies and business know-how compared to Hillary — who repeatedly deals in platitudes and unreal no-policy policy.

He will destroy her and she will be a bigger crybaby than Rubio or Kasich never hoped to be.

“.....ability to harness the anger of America’s dispossessed white working class as a powerful threat...”

The working class is a powerful threat, one that has been overlooked for most of my lifetime. But for most of my lifetime the working class has not been so pissed. The democrats are right to be scared, they are going to get hammered in Nov by those very working class individuals they ignore.

Tell all your acquaintances who aren’t yet on the Trump Train about those “never Trump” Republicans who prefer hillary. Ask them if they support the preferred candidate of George 1 & 2, Romney, Paul Ryan, Ben Sasse, etc ad nauseum. It’s a real effective argument. <^..^>

Once again, the political professionals are behind the curve.

Anyone with a brain knew that Trump would have an easier time winning in November against Hillary than he would winning the nomination.

Trump has done the hard part—won the GOP nomination. Beating Hillary will be easy in comparison.
