I’m sure Paul Ryan thinks he will be heir to the GOPe in Cleveland in June.
This really shows the elite Republican’s sense of entitlement. They should not have to compete for their positions. They just expect coronations.
The Speaker is unelected by citizens, but elected by Congressmen. The process is murky, but I think any Representative can throw his hat in the ring. I forget who was in the running at the time, but I believe Tom Price (Ga.) was one. I was rooting for Tom at the time, because he had a conservative voting record, but Ryan got the majority somehow. Anyone know more details on how he got in and who he was up against?
