Flying all over the world in their individual 747’s, taking multi-million dollar vacations, hosting raves and rap parties with top name entertainers on the taxpayer dollar, eating lobster and Kobe steak.
But for the children stuck eating Moochies Menu in the schools, the labor force Barack has put out of work, the 46 million on food stamps, the car dealers he shut down, the GM stockholders he screwed out of their equity and those paying higher Obamacare rates for less medical coverage - it’s not so good.
It all depends on the criteria, to discuss whether we are in a better place than in the early 80s when he graduated college.
What criteria is he using?

Except that after he was elected to Congress in 2004, he was among the Democrats blocking Republican efforts to reel in Fannie and Freddie. That led to the economic collapse that he's now taking credit for fixing.

I think the Obamas will be like the Clintons, and never quite go away.
I think it’s quite possible that Michelle Obama will follow in Hillary’s footsteps, and run for elective office somewhere someday.
Both Obamas will be all over TV for decades to come, as the media will still swoon over them, and seek them out.
Obama will be out there all the time, if Trump is elected president, to point out the alleged failures of Trump, and continue to brag about his own presidency, what a golden age it was, etc.

Also wanted to mention, the Obamas have studied the Clinton foundation and will set up their own foundation, similar to the Clintons. They will rake in the big bucks from speaking fees.
Can you imagine how much in demand Obama will be on the lecture circuit in the years ahead???? He and Michelle will become multi millionaires. We’re talking a nine figure net worth. They won’t have any money troubles at all.

I think you’re wrong about Michelle going into electoral politics. By all accounts, she hates the White House.
Michelle has a taste for the high life, though. She likes expensive clothes, vacations around the world, and good food and drink. She also has a massive sense of entitlement.
I see her as the head of a non-profit that allows her to represent the grievances of the little people (mainly through public appearances and hobnobiing with celebrities), while actually doing very little work.
Correction, Obama is better off than when he graduated from college, whatever that college was; the world, not so much.
She will be in demand for positions like you describe, also various tv shows. But also the Obamas will extort a huge bonanza from POTUS pardons so they can live like potentates for the next 40 years.
If you constantly have to tell/convince people how great you are....you’re not that great.
