The Racist Trees of Our National Parks
frontpagemag.com ^ | 5/6/16 | Daniel Greenfield

Posted on 05/07/2016 2:19:53 PM PDT by ColdOne

Mickey Fearn, the National Park Service Deputy Director for Communications and Community Assistance, made headlines when he claimed that black people don’t visit national parks because they associate them with slaves being lynched by their masters.

Yellowstone, the first national park, was created in 1872 in Wyoming. Slavery was over by then and no one had ever been lynching slaves around Old Faithful anyway. But false claims of racism die very hard.

Now Alcee Hastings, an impeached judge, and a coalition of minority groups is demanding increased “inclusiveness” at national parks. High on their list is the claim that, “African-Americans have felt unwelcome and even fearful in federal parklands during our nation’s history because of the horrors of lynching.”

I wish my job allowed me to stay in the deep forests all year long, so far removed from society that it was totally ok to say things like this guy :)

So it is.

She of “Urge for Going”.

“Now the warriors of winter
They gave a cold triumphant shout
And all that stays is dying
And all that lives is gettin’ out...”

I burst out laughing at that first sentence, the dog was startled. Sad what this country has evolved into.

The goal is to give more money to community organizers Ah. An article on the lack of "new" Aussies going camping, or even glamping, attributes it to their only being a generation or two removed from third-world living, and have no desire to be "getting back to nature" and "roughing it".

Perhaps LBJ's "Great Society" trained blacks to think the same way, and that's why more don't enjoy nature outside of city parks?

Whatever. The parks are there. Enjoy them or not. At least until the Dems decided to play budget games again.

Alcee Hastings was removed from office for accepting bribes. The Congressional morons neglected to ban him from seeking Federal office when they got rid of him from the judiciary.

So, when Pelosi became speaker, she was in a hair's breath of appointing him to the intelligence committee where he could really resume his payola practice before somebody convinced her otherwise.

Park fees go higher and higher. And then they wonder why they have fewer visitors
