Well, sorta. There was a demonstration of a color TV image at Bell Labs. It used a mechanical image device, and wasn't broadcast for the general public, since no one had any device that could receive the signal.

There wasn’t a broadcast of a play (not just an image) in two colors? I believe there was. Picked up in New Jersey, etc.
