It looks as though California will be considering a measure this November to legalize the recreational use of marijuana by adults over the age of 21. If the ballot measure actually makes the ballot, both California and Maine may soon be joining Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Alaska, and the District of Columbia as states where it's completely legal to toke up.

To make the ballot, organizers had to garner more than 365,880 signatures. According to the coalition behind the ballot initiative, over 600,000 people have signed in support. Supporters of the measure include Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsome (D) and Facebook president Sean Parker.

More addicted idiots disabling themselves with recreational drug abuse.
I know, let’s give them a starting minimum wage of $15 an hour to top off this insane circus.

Don’t be fooled, kids. Putting this on the November ballot is mainly about one thing: maximizing Democrat turnout. Gavin Newsom is spearheading this in CA for the same reason that Terry McAuliffe is pushing voting rights for felons in VA. It’s about locking up the state for Hillary Clinton and the down-ballot Democrats. Are there some GOP potheads and legalization supporters? Of course, but they are vastly outnumbered by Democrat potheads and supporters. In most polls, support for pot legalization typically runs ~30% GOP, compared to ~60% Dem. Get the pot-supporting voter to the polls in November provides a huge statistical edge to down-ballot Dems.

Almost all employers in California test for marijuana during employment screening and will not hire users for a long list of reasons. If you use marijuana good luck finding employment.

If liberals are willing to recognize State rights when it comes to Marijuana, why do they not recognize State's rights when it comes to same-sex marriage or transgender bathroom use? Purely rhetorical.

Many of them are "college educated" idiots with huge student loans to pay back.

Good. That will stop the flow of CA fools/thugs/freakers into OR to grow dope, which recently started. It’s horrible up here now. More traffic accidents, burning cars, home invasions, property prices going up and local people can’t even afford rent, shady characters all over the place, crawling with them.

I live in a state which has legalized mj. Since mj use causes craziness in many users, sometimes permanent, and the “high” is also a type of craziness, and when mj is legalized, many more people use it, it creates more population of idiots, fools, useless freaks who can’t work. And get in car accidents.

Yay.../sarc

If “Question 2” passes (’highly’ likely) it will activate on 1/1/2017 so the tokers will be able to tote around up to an ounce for recreational use.
