A science professor’s personal feelings about firearms is leading her to consider instituting her own form of gun control -- refusing to write a letter of recommendation for a student gun enthusiast.
Writing under a pseudonym, Myrtle Lynn Payne, the instructor at an unidentified western college, said she’s conflicted about whether to honor the girl’s request for a recommendation note, given the professor’s deep disdain for guns.
“How can I say that I don’t want to support students who are gun enthusiasts, without getting put on some sort of list?” she wrote in The Chronicle of Higher Education on April 18.

This professor is a perfect example of the lack of ethics, professionalism and honesty in our “higher education” especially in the professors. Their job is to teach, not indoctrinate or push their agenda on the students but the latter is what is happening. To punish a student because that student does not agree with the agenda of the professor is an abuse of power, pure and simple.

Revealing such a bias after the fact is the height of deception and should garner a reprimand for the professor.
This science professor should appear on the loony professor list, so that students can avoid her.
I am quite sure she has many other quirks, as well. She should be required to state the political criteria for students she will, and will not write recommendations for.
So much for “diversity” and “tolerance”.
So the professor doesn't mind putting her student on an ideological list, she just doesn't want to be put on one herself. How very Stasi of her.

Apparently achievement has nothing to do with references these days. Only if you comply with the communist propaganda line. Your independent thought is no longer needed.
Well, at least she has some semblance of a brain left.
Professor Evil should take a glance at the Heisenberg biography “Uncertainty” to see what happened to Heisenberg, his colleagues and their students under the fully politicized “educational” system under the Nazis. There’s some great ideas in that book for how she can go about secretly nuking that promising young science student in a solo fashion, without having to go full Star Chamber.
She should be fired for being unethical
Letting her personal political views distort the scholastic achievements or grades of her students

If it wasn't for double standards, you wouldn't HAVE any standards!
OK everyone, you see how it is in this war (it is a war). So use any power you have to do as much damage as you can to any leftist target of opportunity that presents itself. Don’t hire them, don’t patronize their businesses, and don’t help their kids. In fact, don’t even knowingly perform CPR on the bastards.
Putting their politics aside and actually doing their job is a foreign thing to them.
