This is what happens when the Republican party ignores its base, the working class and small businesses and evangelicals.
Democrats held their base by fracturing them into warring tribes, saying society as a whole is out to get you, stay sheltered under the big tent and we’ll protect you from evil Republicans/whites/men/straights/workers. They are by definition the party of the minority, but they ensured there were a lot of them.

The “rules” it seems, protected the political class, known as the uni-party. Trump is stripping them bare naked in front of the whole world, and spanking their big fat asses.

Flake, “We can only win by giving up, surrendering everything America has stood for.”

What sick cowardly logic is that!

Trump Already Flip-Flopping on Taxes and Minimum Wages

“”If Republicans want to win, and we do, then we’ve got to change the approach because we’re not going to win taking these positions,” said Flake, R-Ariz.”

More like “if Republicans want to win, and we do, then we have to support Trumps approach because if we so we will win in a landslide”

Jeff Flake: Exactly Backwards

Damn straight on his terms.

Trump is in the process of going in for the kill. He smells blood. You can see it. He exudes a confidence that is intoxicating. The dems are bleeding out and Trump is circling like a monster shark about to shred his prey.

Go Trump!

“2010 and 2012 elections, then they failed to perform.”

They didn’t fail to perform. Well, they did if you consider their performance to do what we wanted. I don’t.

They intentionally misread the results and reasons why they were elected. The mandate they were given was “Start paring down government”. They chose to continue doing what they always did in Washington (making themselves and their backers rich at our expense by continually growing government and globalizing) and are now surprised that we are so pissed at them that we chose Donale Trump to fight for us.

News flash for those idiots: When people feel ignored and don’t feel represented, they’ll latch on to the first person who looks like they’ll pay attention and represent them. It’s really about that simple,

Trump doesn’t need to kiss up to the GOP. He’s going to hand Congress over to the Democrats.

How many of the Trump Democrats/Independents are going to vote Republican in the down ballot races?

...How many of the Trump Democrats/Independents are going to vote Republican in the down ballot races?

Well, lets see. We can have Cruz who nationally might get 10% fewer votes than Hillary, or maybe Jeb who would likely get 12-15% fewer, or Donald, who will get more votes than Hillary. Now why do you think any of the others will pull more down-ballot votes than Donald?

* * * * * *

The real answer to your question is how many Republicans are going to jump on the Trump Train with all their hearts and all their souls?

The key to winning the down ballot races is to be 100% behind Donald Trump. If he pulls Dems and Independents in, someone who has supported him strongly will go along for the ride. They have to make the case that Donald has good ideas, but he can't pull off a turnaround alone. He needs support in congress.

If the down-ballot candidates are wish-washy on this they may very well lose.

Almost Everyone else seems to have proven they are incapable of getting us back on track. Seems Trump is the only one that can accomplish anything. Hillary has proven her incompetence.

The definition of a career politician: One who will lie, cheat, steal and commit criminal actions to stay and advance in office. To enrich themselves and to ensure a good and prosperous lifestyle exempt from the rules and laws they foisted upon the ones who voted for them.

McCain, McConnell, Ryan, Boehner and many others certainly misread the mandates coming out of 2010 and 2014, by fighting Executive over-reach, dumping ObamaCare, stoppage of overbearing regulation, and bringing some fiscal sanity. They rolled over by any measure. It wasn’t as simplistic a ‘paring back the growth of government’. The GOPe went after Cruz for trying to go against the BOHICA approach of House and Senate leadership. They let Hillary off the hook - large measure - for Benghazi, $6B missing in the State Department, and violation of the Public Records Act of 1950. Trump is a symptom of the frustration coming out of the power-class closing ranks regardless of party.

Exactly...Those who vote for Trump aren't going to vote Democrat in the down line for people who oppose the one they just voted for...

“McCain, McConnell, Ryan, Boehner and many others certainly misread the mandates coming out of 2010 and 2014,”

You left off one word that I think is absolutely key:

Intentionally.

They INTENTIONALLY misread the mandates because doing so enabled them to keep the gravy train going and reading the mandates properly would have stopped the gravy train.
