Hispanics eager to punish Trump, GOP over border wall, immigration rhetoric
The Washington Times ^ | May 8, 2016 | Stephen Dinan & Seth McLaughlin

Donald Trump launched his presidential campaign promising to build a border wall to stop illegal immigrants — and Hispanic rights advocates say Republicans will now reap the pain of having him as their party’s nominee.

America’s Voice, a leading immigration advocacy group, said Republicans are facing “a moment of truth.” Other organizations predicted that Hispanic voters will be eager to punish Mr. Trump for his rhetoric and the party as a whole for nominating him.

“The Republican Party is about to run into a force more powerful than their hatred — the power of the love of families and communities standing together,” said Kica Matos, director of immigrant rights at the Center for Community Change.

On the other side are Hispanic Republican leaders who fear exactly what has come to pass. They say Mr. Trump has a lot of work to do even to get Hispanics in his own party to back him up.

“I cannot support him, I cannot campaign for him, I cannot vote for him,” Alfonso Aguilar, executive director of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, told The Washington Times.

“Having said that, I am taking a pause and just seeing how this evolves, and considering all the things that the country is facing, all the things that are at stake in this election I am willing to see if Mr. Trump evolves on a number of issues. I hope that he revises his views on immigration and if that is the case I would be willing to consider reconsidering my position,” he said.

Hispanics are one of the fastest-growing demographics in the American electorate, and Republican nominees have lost a share of that vote in the past two presidential elections, from about 40 percent in 2004 to 31 percent in 2008 and 27 percent in 2012.

The Mexican Gov has money falling out of their asses.

Before prices collapsed 40% of government revenue came from oil. Still the taxes in Mexico as a percentage of GDP are very low, the bottom of the list, and unlike the USA the government maintains a balanced budget. Thanks to the GOPe's NAFTA they have a trade surplus and job growth. And in their stores it's hard to buy Chinese junk.

Correction: Illegal aliens and the lawless illegal alien groups that support them would love to punish Donald Trump, U.S. citizens are proud that Trump stands up for the rule of law.

Correct.

Illegal aliens can't "punish" anyone but themselves.
After all, illegal aliens are criminals and can't vote.

Right?
Right? Helllooo!

I don't know of any legal alien who has become a legal resident of the United states, who complied with all our immigration laws and has any resentment towards having the same opportunities as every other legal resident.

The illegal thugs who want to make a Mexican slum wherever they go in the United States, I can do without.

If they want a shooting war, so be it.

Their choice.

Absolutely right. Trump's illegal immigration policies will energize far more voters than will be lost due to Hispanics' knee-jerk shortsightedness.

If there are Hispanics who cheer on illegal immigration, the GOP doesn't need their vote. They can vote for Hillary if they want to.

The American People aren't going to capitulate to threats from Hispanics who live on the Democrat plantation and who take their cues from racist organizations like La Raza and their ilk.

That was the old GOP of the last 25 years. This is the new GOP that puts America and Americans first, including Hispanic Americans.

Bring it on! This is a civil war that is being fought on the battlefield of American culture and values.

Choose wisely, Hispanics...

Vote Trump

Hispanic rights advocates say Republicans will now reap the pain of having him as their party’s nominee. >>>> people making money from illegal immigration will lose their jobs. real immigrants will vote of Trump. this is a tough row to hoe for any one including trump. immigration leaders i know as ukranian baptist ministers tell their congregations to vote democrat. why i only know they feel that the socialists here are easier to deal with.

All will see the power of true Americans and American communities standing together for the rule of law and the ideal of sovereignty.

Trespassers will no longer be welcomed or tolerated As it should be.

Maybe we should show our ‘love” by adopting Mexico’s immigration laws and practices.

I sick and damned tired of illegal Mexican aliens and La Raza thugs waving their damned flag in my country. It’s an act of war. Why aren’t they in Mexico agitating for change there?

"...Hispanics are one of the fastest-growing demographics in the American electorate..."

Trump will fix that. The cancer needs to be excised if we are to survive.

Repatriation via trebuchet!

The elites of Mexico are Caucasian and atheistic.

The masses of Mexico are brown, poor, and Catholic.

The elites just love to excrete their dregs to America. It keeps them in power.

Our battle is with the elites. The poor brown people are merely the fodder for this conflict.

Fun fact: there are more billionaires in Mexico than there are in America.
