Last night after it was freshly made and the pudding was still warm, Marlene turned her nose at it. But, this morning, after sitting in the fridge and the flavors melding, she is ready to make it again and again. She declared it is her new favorite, too! he wanted to make a meringue, but I nixed that.

My Mom made it just like you see in the pic, as did her Mom (my NC Grandma)! Banana slices, vanilla wafers and homemade vanilla pudding. It doesn't get any better than that!

That’s the standard by which all banana pudding is measured, it’s always good and it’s hard to mess it up. I’ve had an iteration that involved sour cream, oddly enough, and it was awesome but I’d imagine it could go very, very wrong and fairly easily. Best to stick to the tried and true.
