If I spent my whole life preparing for something, and then losing badly at it, I would not go to the Kentucky Derby mere days after dropping out. I would have been too depressed. I was shocked he went there.

I suppose that if I were running in a presidential primary, and I was out of money and needed a quick fix of cash, I might suspend my campaign, sneak off to hobnob with the elite of the elite while the press wasn’t looking. The contrast between Ted at the derby mixing with the glitterati and the picture of Fiorino alone at the airport........... Well, politics makes for strange bedfellows and differences of opinion make horse races.

Cruz came in second, Not a bad showing in any horse race. And, fellow, the guy is only 45. This is absolutely Trump’s last chance at the brass ring, because he is 70 years old. Cruz is 45. Plus he is tough guy. Ben Carson came up with the right word: relentless. Whether Trump wins or loses, come December Cruz will be planning his next campaign.
