My point, which seems to have been lost, is that it is completely to be expected that Jeb Bush and others would feel, and act with, personal hostility toward Donald Trump. It is entirely to be expected that Donald Trump would feel, and act upon, personal hostility toward various Republican candidates and party figures.
What part of pledge taking is up for discussion? The purpose initially was to require Trump to take that pledge... Now it is just fine after the multiple millions of dollars of negative ads against Trump to renege on a pledge... over 'rudeness'. Jeb Bush was as rude to Trump as Trump has ever been to Jeb. One cannot server two masters.
Any competition between decent people ends with congratulations to the winner! Certain of the competitors in this campaign, including Cruz and Bush, have no decency whatsoever. “Ethics” doesn’t enter into their little worlds, nor does it enter into the world of your “sort.”
