I am so glad to see ETL go. That mental midget loved to spam every thread with endless links and articles that hardly ever followed the thread topic.

Nope. Thought so but it’s obviously a different name.

One is still here; one isn’t.

Crap. That sucks. He's someone I always loved to read, even when we didn't agree.

He can always return upon repentance.

His obsession with Trump-hatred has been quite pathological, and he simply couldn't stop himself from running around with the "Trump is a charlatan" bullcrap, as well as grossly distorting Trump's policy positions a la Ted Cruz (a.k.a. "lyin'").

When it gets to the point that someone's irrational hatred for Trump totally overwhelms their reasoning, and they can't even carry on an honest debate, instead sturating everything with blatant propaganda, that's just pushing things too far.

I expect we'll see nbf again, if he wants to come back, but, despite his erudition and eloquence, he is a major and incorrigible TDS™ sufferer. He called me an "ignoble coward" a few weeks ago, and language like that is over the line, I don't care where you're from.

I hope he repents, ultimately.

Vote Trump

None of that is what I was referring to, as should be plainly obvious. Don’t insult me, or the other person you insulted.

He’s still here along with IowaDavid. ETL had some good stuff; though I definitely disagreed about TC.

Last posts April. Unless they are on restricted posting.

I lived in Monterey for a year while I attended DLI for Rissian language training.

I absolutely loved it there. Though it was a little expensive to live.

I agree with you and, like you, believed that Cruz might, along with Trump, be one of the vehicles for taking out the GOPe. I moved from Cruz to Trump because in the early stages of the campaign, by last fall, it seemed to me that Cruz just did not have the charisma to win a general election, while Trump was really charismatic and exciting big crowds, while saying the right things on the BIG issues that matter, such as immigration. Cruz had a strange nasally voice, was clipped and measured in his speaking style, and just couldn't get traction. So, my hope was that he would be Trump's VP and then gain his following over 8 years.

That was a long time ago. As of now, after what he did with Neil Bush and working with the GOPe to stop Trump instead of work with him against the GOPe, I am not sure I trust him to be a vehicle to turn over the tables of the money changers, as you put it. He might be one of them.

Hmmm, that’s a pretty big mistake.

I’m sure you’ll be zotted soon for that! ;)

Rissian should be Russian.

Why does spellcheck change my correct words into something totally different, while not ever correcting my spelling mistakes? Grrrrr!

I was kind of gauging by who drove the leftists more frothingly, rabidly mad. All the people (using the term loosely) that I cannot abide, absolutely hate Trump - but they also hate Cruz. It was a tough call from that angle.

Trump certainly can't match Cruz's constitutional chops, and Ted hasn't near the Don's people skills. If you could synthesize the pair, you'd basically have Reagan II. The people spoke and Trump prevailed. I imagine he'll have a better chance with a celebrity-tinged populism than Cruz would with a bookish discourse on principles of the Scottish Enlightenment. That's just a situational fact in a world with about 7,000 cable channels.

I'm anticipating there will be an endless fountain of yuks should President Trump occur, as libtard heads figuratively explode across the globe in collective conniption fits. I certainly wouldn't mind a few literals sprinkled in...

I don’t recall ever actually seeing nathanfedford post anything.

it is nice, but you have to be careful on pages with a lot comments (like 2000+). Because of the way the script executes, it puts a fair bit of load on FR’s servers. I’ve successfully run it on some pretty massive threads, but I try to avoid that because it is pretty hard on Jim’s hardware.

Oh, so nathanbedford doesn't have anything to repent for!

Some people are not "NeverTrump", but they basically try to see how close they can get.

Like constantly harping that Donald Trump is a charlatan, which I believe is effectively rebutted by any objective review of the historical facts of his life, in addition to what he's had to withstand in the way of character assassination this entire cycle.

In addition to that, many Cruz supporters mimic "Lyin'" Ted Cruz himself in distorting Trump's policy positions.

It takes a lot of energy to have to repeatedly point out the use of such propaganda technique on the part of the Trump-haters.

For instance, Ted Cruz was running around saying how Trump wants to "extend 0bamacare", which is totally false; and then suddenly Trump's being accused of "wanting a federal minimum wage increase" even though that's not what he said.

At some point, when you systematically "oversimplify" someone's positions or statements, to the point where it becomes a blatant misrepresentation, it becomes what's known as a lie.

Vote Trump!
